Just read this in the Sports Section of Newage
Indian media bash Kamal
Staff Correspondent
The visiting Indian journalists took a swipe at the president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, AHM Mustafa Kamal, for what they said an uncivilised behaviour with the national cricket team skipper Sakib al Hasan.
Kamal and Sakib were locked in a war of words at a function when the former raised question on the commitment of players on Friday. Sakib protested the irrational words and was forced to kneel down and apologise.
The picture of Sakib apologising to Kamal kneeling down drew the attention of many visiting journalists, who were shocked to see it. A dumbfounded reporter of powerful Indian daily Hindustan Times questioned the sagacity of Kamal and said his behaviour was worthy of investigation.
‘Kamal may be a powerful man in Bangladesh but this issue could have a serious repercussions if the International Cricket Council decides to investigate.
‘The top officials of the national boards who attend ICC meetings are reportedly governed by a Code of Ethics,’ said the newspaper in a report titled ‘Bangla skipper forced to ‘kneel’.
‘This code is distinctly different from the ICC Code of Conduct for players and team officials. If an ethics violation is reported to the ICC, an official can be asked for an explanation.
‘If found guilty of a violation on ethical grounds, the official concerned could face expulsion from the ICC board meetings,’ said the newspaper.
Kolkata daily Ajkaal said the behaviour of Kamal was not just an unfortunate incident but an uncivilised act.
‘It’s a heavy drama. But very sad. In fact very unfortunate,’ wrote the Bengali newspaper.
‘The BCB president had set an unprecedented example by raising a question on the players’ commitment. In reality it was an uncivilised act.
‘At the same time if we look at his comments we will also get an idea of his cricket knowledge,’ it said.
Like Hindustan Times, Ajkaal also said that the BCB chief may get into trouble if anyone takes up the issue with the International Cricket Council. Both the newspapers carried a picture that was published in a local daily.
It was apparent in the picture that Sakib was apologising to Kamal, though the BCB late on Sunday challenged the authenticity of its caption.
‘Our attention has been drawn to a photo published in the sports page of a national daily on consecutive days and news reports concerning BCB president AHM Mustafa Kamal and national captain Sakib al Hasan,’ said the BCB in a statement.
‘The caption of the photo has been written based purely on assumption and was a totally false impression of the actual facts.
‘The photo was taken during a conversation between the BCB president and the national team captain and was far from what the caption had indicated,’ it added.
‘The BCB is of the opinion that the photo was intentionally published on consecutive days to cause embarrassment and humiliation to the BCB president and the national team captain.
‘It also has the potential to have a negative impact on the team’s performance,’ said the BCB.

Very interesting read. So true! The negative impact on the team's performance, I say that it is not embarrasment and humiliation to the BCB president, he probably does not know the meaning, he sees himself as a dictator, but it is completely humiliating to Sakib and portrays him as a little boy begging for forgiveness being humbled by kneeling to this godlike man who controls his future. Is this Kamal a God?

Well yes and no. If Riyad could maintain his composure least we could've asked from some professional sportsman was not to gift their wickets away. LK maybe a jerk but that doesnt excuse the players from concentrating less and initiating a collapse.

This is the official media release from BCB:
BCB’s position on misinterpretation of photo
Our attention has been drawn to a photo published in the sports page of a national daily newspaper on consecutive days (Saturday, 23 January and Sunday 24 January 2010) and news reports concerning BCB President AHM Mustafa Kamal, FCA, MP and Bangladesh National Team Captain Shakib Al Hasan.
In this regard the BCB wishes to state the following:
- The caption of the photo has been written based purely on assumption and was a totally false impression of the actual facts. The photo was taken during a conversation between the BCB President and the National Team Captain and was far from what the caption had indicated.
- The BCB President and the National Team Captain had an informal chat after a reception programme where both discussed ways forward for the National Team. The BCB President also sought views of the Captain on a number of areas. The discussion was very cordial and at no stage was there a situation which called for an apology on part of the Captain.
- The BCB is of the opinion that the photo was intentionally published on consecutive days to cause embarrassment and humiliation for the BCB President and the National Team Captain. It also has the potential to have a negative impact on the team’s performance.
The BCB expresses grave concern at such irresponsible act on the part of a National Daily. We hope that for the sake of cricket in Bangladesh such unconfirmed and unsubstantiated items will be avoided in the future so that similar misinterpretations do not occur.
Media & Communications Department, BCB

If Lota Kamal discussed about what support Shakib and Bangladesh team needed, they would have been discussing sitting on chairs. This type of discussion can't go with Shakib made kneeling before that scoundrel.

Mr. Lotus should immediately step down if the picture is part of a discission. It seems he didn't learn manner during his upbringing. Is that how you discuss matters with the captain of the national team?
That stupid idiot is sitting on the sofa and Shakib is on his knee for discussion? Why didn't he offer the sofa, which is empty, to Shakib and discuss team issues?
These idiots think everyone is stupid and they are the most clever people of the world.

Well, you are not, because you do not wear a mask like PA. They claim that they are neutral and boast that they are always "সত্য প্রকাশে অকুণ্ঠ" while their work says otherwise.
