Default Now Nafis Iqbal (not S.Nafees)...What's happening?

O Allah! What's happening to our team. I was shocked to see below message today.

Link

After Mashrafi, Russel.....now Nafees also injured? This is not good for us. No matter how big or small an injury is. An injury always has a negetive impact. The report says there were lot of bleeding. I hope this is not serious.

Yeah..Seeing the name Nafis, my heart also gave a nasty jamp..But, I was assured that it is Nafis Iqbal.Nafis Iqbal was indeed a good batsman in my opinion but he was annoyingly irresponsible.Anyways, I hope he will recover soon from the injury which doesn't seem to be a good one.

Sorry. It is NI and not SN. I just mixed up. I know he is already out. Anyway injury is hunting our players inside and outside the groud though we are not in cricket season. No bad.

So, if golla (I assume) was accused of bringing his relative to indoor stadium, how could nafis bring his brother? Is he Tamim Iqbal? What is the criteria to enter the indoor?

1)Know some chacha mama in board
2) put 200tk in an envelope and transfer it hand to hand..no postage necessary
3) as long as play like golla ...scoring golla...dreaming golla..etc etc will make u one of them
4) Know minister, secretaries, lawmakers or their SONS
There's more to know you gota give me an envelope...

These are not accident, rather carelessness IMO, we are having too much of these lately, really disgusting!

Carelessness is nothing new for Nafis Iqbal..He has shown great carelessness in most of his outings for National Team.Once upon a time I was so hopeful about Nafis.Seemed to me a good solution for opening. But, evantually he is proving himself to be in the same league with many jhore-jaowa players.

Yeah, all of BC members ( including me ) were so exited having Nafis as good solution for opening, and I still remember those days as well as wishful posts ... but rest is history now ... very disappointing indeed.

Don't give up hope. He is still too young to give up hope on him. See the brighter side, the BCB is handling this situation exactly the way they should have handled by not forcing the issue (like the case of Alok and Ash), let him gain his form and confidence back outside the limelight and then bring him back. No guarantee... but its still possible that he will be back in the team in future without hurting the team at present.

If that happenes, it will be great.Nafees had really good technique (except that very very bad habit of unnecessarily chasing the delivery long outside off-stamp).

Tobe chotobhai Tamim to opening slot er jonno already fight shuru kore diyeche bole mone hocche.Jebhabe Nafees er mukh e ball marche..dekha jak ki hoy.

you really think so, coz all i remember is him using 50 balls to score 5 then going out chasing a wide one, i have never seen him play "good". what i mean by that is he had a really poor strike rate, maybe worse than golla's strike rate.

one thing i would not count him out of is from Test matches, he has the ability the hang around in the crease for long periods, like he did in that century against Zimbabawe, maybe if he hits good form maybe he will be called up in the future, but i dont see him playing ODI's again.

back the original post, i hope he recovers well from the injury.

I agree that Nafis rarely bloomed to his potential in the outings for the National Team, specially in ODIs.But, in different matches (National League and practice matches when some test playing nations come to BD), he did reallly good.He also had a very good striking rate there. But, when he got out in the main stage, he played pretty irresponsibly which helped him get out of the team very quickly. For me, I still think except that very bad habit of chasing the ball long outside off-stamp, he has a good technique. But, of course, only future will tell either he will ever turn up for the National Team or not.

For now, lets pray for his recovery.

I do not care what everybody say about NI. To me he is a hero. He give us the test series win. Ash, Mash, aftab may be more talented; Rafiq, Pilot may be more gusty; Stats speaks for Habibul. But none saved a test for us bar this kid. You may forget the innings he played againest zimbo. that innings give me the feelings that we belong to the test nation.
By the way, his technique is not perfect
