Default Opening debate, again

During the early part of HK match, numerous fans argued inclusion of Golla as his too slow approach puts pressure on other top order batsmen. At the same time, Rafiq's promotion to the opening slot is demanded, and I think it has logic. Rafiq, with his carefree hit-and-miss approach, could an ideal contrasting partner of Golla. Besides, he opened in ODI 6 yrs back n didnot do that bad. Here s the data from Cricinfo Statsguru

Run Pos v team Season Venue

1 2 v Ken in Ken 1997/98 at Nairobi (AK)
20 7 v Ind in BD 1997/98 at Dhaka
29 7 v Pak in BD 1997/98 at Dhaka
1 8 v Ind in Ind 1998 at Chandigarh
77 2 v Ken in Ind 1998 at Hyderabad
23 2 v Ken in Ind 1998 at Chennai (d/n)
6 2 v Ind in Ind 1998 at Mumbai (d/n)

He never opened again after getting a solitary single figure score after two decent (one matchwinning) scores. Dont u feel it was unjust? Just wondering what is in DW's mind about Rafiq's batting position.
BTW, I wish BD top order watched the HL of Dravid's innings today.Text

i don't really care who opens. i did not like JO opening, but he justified the decision. but all i care is seeing ash at number 4. anyone, rana or rafique can be JO's partner. leave alok alone, or give him a fixed place of 12th man for the next 6 months.

I also don't care who opens. What makes me pissed off is that our batsmen yet to learn how to take full advantage of 15 over restriction(which is a key to play in one day format)after playing damn 89 ODI's.

Personally I still believe Ashraful should be left at the original 4th slot. By pushing him to open an innings might destroy his natural talent as an middle order batsman.
