Default ***Fans Favourite Head Coach of All Time: Thread***

I wanted to know the fans favourite coach amongst our loyal Head Coach’s in past.

Mohinder Amarnath

After a prolonged career, he had a brief stint with Bangladesh as a coach during the 90’s until he was sacked in 1996 as they failed to qualify for the World Cup that year. He was appointed a consultant to the Bengal Ranji team back in 2008 and also continues to work as an analyst with various broadcasting and news channels.

Gordon Greenidge

He became the coach of Bangladesh in 1997. Under his guidance Bangladesh became the champions of ICC Trophy in 1997 along with the chance to play at their first World Cup finals in 1999. Soon afterwards Greenidge was given the honorary citizenship of the country. He also coached them during the 1999 Cricket World Cup and the team eventually promoted to a Test playing after their performance during the World Cup.

Stuart Grant Law

He is also the head coach of Bangladesh national cricket team, as from July, he succeeded fellow Aussie Jamie Siddons, who left shortly after the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Stuart Law Named Bangladesh Cricket Head Coach. Recently took Bangladesh to Asia Cup Final.

James Siddons

On 28 October 2007 Siddons was named the coach of the Bangladesh national cricket team. He left Bangladesh when his contract expired after the end of the 2011 World Cup, in which the team failed to qualify for the quarter-finals.

Dav Whatmore

From 2003 to 2007, he had been coaching Bangladesh. Under his coaching, Bangladesh enjoyed relative success, coming from a side that could rarely win matches at all, to a team that can occasionally surprise even the most powerful cricket countries. Whatmore coached them to their first Test match victory early in 2005. Bangladesh shocked the cricket world later that year with a victory over then top ranked Australia and then South Africa when they were top ranked during the 2007 World Cup, where they also defeated India to reach the Super 8 stage. Whatmore announced his resignation from the Bangladeshi team after the conclusion of their matches at the 2007 World Cup. He stayed on until the conclusion of their home series against India on May 29.

Eddie John Barlow not in the list! আমি সুধু উনাকে না, তার স্ত্রীকেও এই লিস্টে দিতাম! তাই আমি ভোট দিলাম না।

Those that have been voting for Jamie siddons, I am really happy that his contribution in developing players is getting recoginsed. Many critise him due to his concept of sticking to the 15 core players. But I believe this has done wonders to bangladesh, I really do.

Mahinder Amarnath-1993-94
Gordon Greenidge-1997-99
Eddie Barlow-1999-2000
Trevor Chappell-2001-02
Mohsin Kamal-2002-03
Dav Whatmore-2003-07
Jamie Siddons-2007-11
Stuart Law-2011-12

Stuart Law was the most successful coach. Though a bad start, but then a good home series against WI. Then the Pak series, and eventually the Asia Cup.

Every coach had a horrible start with us and then we eventually start performing well.

I would humbly request to include the Bangladeshi head coaches here as well. I think before Gordon Greenidge BCB (or BCCB) used to hire foreign coaches before IIC tournaments. I think Mudassar and Mahinder started before two ICC trophy tournaments (1990 and 1994). In between this tournaments I am not sure if there were any coaches. Who coached Bangladesh for ICC Trophy 1979, 82, and 86?

Also lets remember that our first test team had Bangladeshi coach.
