I would try to translate. May be then the one I mention is untranslateble. so many subtly there would be lost. Dayal Baba could be in the same league. I only heard it once, as it was not so much of my taste. But I hope to do the translation tomorrow. so pls open the thread tomorrow

The one you posted is a mellowed bollywood kind song. Maybe funny but doesn't compare. Not to me atleast who can't understand both!

Dayal Baba is quite a famous old song (folk?!) in Bangladesh, I'm not entire sure of its history...

The original line is- "Dayal Baba Kebla Baba Ainer Karigor"

Translation (from my understanding) - umm... basically the "creator", the most kind (!), the owner (?) of kebla (Kaba Sharif in Mecca, Saudi Arab), the maker of 'law'

Now the comedy actor Kajal made a parody of this song which is-

'Dayal baba, Kola khaba, Gachh Lagaye Khau'

It means - Dayal baba (you know who), if you wana eat banana (kola), then plant a tree and eat.

I know it makes no sense.. the funny effect is lost in translation!.. ok it's 4.26am, match is about to start.. don't blame me!

1. Click on the download.
2. You have to install google video player. SO, click on manually download Google Video Player.
3. Click on manually download the the video. Better use
Save target as'

DJ, the song 'Faisa gechhi' ('I got trapped') is videod in 'Old Dhaka' where people speak the original 'Dhakaiya' accent which sounds kinda funny. None of the words belong to standard Bangla, although some words or their pronounciation resemble to Hindi/Urdu words.

The song is about the man's crappy life and that no one understands his pain. I'd try to translate but it's hard & it would lose all the funny meaning, rhythm, etc.
