Sending Rafique early has sent an important message.

Finally, the powers-to-be have begun to recognise that when batsmen average 20s and bowlers average 20s in the long run, then there is really no difference between them in ability.

Sending Rafique in before Rana, has shown that Rafique is now finally counted as a batsman. He also went in ahead of Mashud.

I expect him not only to open in the ODIs, but to start coming in at No.7 or even No.6 for Bangladesh in tests.

If any one has doubts, show me a better No.6 in figures ?

The logical conclusion of this is that Rana will be competing with Mushfique for the ODI slot. Maybe both can play. But, neither it appears can play in tests as they are neither a batsman nor a bowler. Therefore, Enamul should come in to strengthen the bowling. Overall the side is stronger.

I don't think he should come before no. 8 (no. 7 at best, if Pilot bats at 6). And don't forget, he often has to bowl 40-50 overs/ innings. So he needs some rest.

However, he's a good choice for opening in ODI games.
