Was it just me? I thought I saw a bit of Steyn in Shafiul yesterday.

Rubel did not get any wicket yesterday, but he bowled well. He was repeatedly beating the bat. He was unlucky to not get a nick.

i also had the same thought before the wc began but after seeing the performance of the bowlers,i mean pacers,i dont think anyone should be dropped.if u really want to drop someone,drop ashraful and bring in riyad.10 off 20 is better than 1 off 6 anyday.pitch conditions should be secondary issue,playing ur strengths is the primary one and i think 2pacers and the spinners is the best option we have atm

Default Playing with one pacer against WI

I think the time has come to play with one pacer. Rubel hasnt done good so far and chances are he wont do it much either against WI. Whereas Riad has done well before against WI , his off spin will be valuable against the left armers in WI lineup and he also provide more depth in batting. We need to keep Ashraful with the hope that he would come good with the bat but his spin may come under attack in which case we would have cover in Riad and Naeed.

The pitch will likely turn and even if it doesnt, it will be likely low and slow. I think our best chance is keep bowling spin at them and throttle their batsman. What do you think?

Playing with one pacer is NEVER a good idea. We're in trouble as it is if one of our pacers have a off day.

Keep in mind that so far the most successful bowlers have been pacers in this WC.

+1
Siddons also wants to keep the same team against WI, means two pacers are going to play.

RBX played well against India and is capable of taking out the WI lower order batters IMHO

Who gave you the idea ?

It should be 2 ; Don't forget as that pitch has been used for the first 2 matches against Zimbabwe ;

The first match we lost against that Zimbabwe on that same pitch ;

playing the same team wont be a good idea, ash will likely get hit and we have one other off spinner naeem and he isnt that reliable either. Riad I think is a better offie than both , he has good record against WI both with bat and ball. Keeping him out is not right and that too for Rubel who in honesty will not perform well. Remember what happened in WI.

The attack looks one dimensional, but then horses for courses.

In these kind of pitches, unless you are express, you wont get wickets. We dont have pacers like Malinga or Roach and even they got wickets against Minnows. Shafiul get wickets but only against Ireland. WI batsmen are good against pace and they will rack up runs against Shaiful and Rubel with ease.

A one pacer based bowling battery does not allow the skipper much of needed options. Two pacers are the minimum in ODI just because of the contingencies.

three and a half spinners are enough in any situation. More spinners means we are too greedy, may backfire to our winning combination.
We must need 2 pacers as our pacers are not consistent - in case one's bad day and other's yummy yummy day.
