Give the credit where it's due. The pitch against India was slow and the balls kept low like anything. It was quite difficult to score big there. It wasn't a batting paradise.

The match against England was different, because they don't have SLAs like we do. The Irish team is weak against spin attack, so it will be just as difficult for them to do anything special in that game.

But Porterfield is doing what he should do, giving his own players a confidence boost. That's what the captain is responsible for. I have a great deal of respect for the Irish team because they have the heart to play good cricket, and they give it all for the game. To be honest, I won't be as sad if we lose against them - but I'll be quite ashamed of it.

I also don't think there was anything wrong with the pitch. If you remember what Tamim said, ball was not coming to his bat easily. He was not able to time it well. But I will not give credit to Shewag and Virat as well. They are good batsmen, no doubt, but even I can score a century if I get that many balls on my leg. I think what ruined us in that game is the inexperience of the pacers who were overexcited for playing the WC for the first time and made rookie mistake of bowling the dead wrong line and length.

That sinked the game for us and could not be recovered from there.

Lets just hope they can play their natural game from now on.

the balls didn't keep excessively low. low yes compared to the WACA, but normal compared to any subcontinent wicket. our pitches are also not as quick as barbados perhaps, but the Indian batsman have made record breaking careers on these pitches.

yes India batted well and we bowled poorly to get 370. that was a 320 pitch, not a 370 pitch. but it was still pretty darn flat, at least in teh first innings.

That's the thing we bowled on their legs no idea when we learn ;

Indian batsmen are always good on the legs ; Anyway Tamim played so many balls even he can't make centuries there ;

But ,there was a Pepsi ad acted by Sehwag it has been on the air after Sehwag's century in that match ;

Bowling O M R W Econ
Shafiul Islam 7 0 69 1 9.85 (1nb, 2w)
Rubel Hossain 10 0 60 0 6.00 (5w)
Abdur Razzak 9 0 74 0 8.22 (1w)
Shakib Al Hasan 10 0 61 1 6.10 (3w)
Naeem Islam 7 0 54 0 7.71
Mahmudullah 7 0 49 1 7.00 (3w)

if you see the bowling stat of BD from that match it is clear other than Shaiful ... all the other spinners went for more per over... which clearly shows .. the spinners had their share of blame..you guys had been unfairly pointing only bowling on the leg side as the reason.. sure it gave India a rocking start but so did BD during their batting.. if BD spinners had been so good .. they should have stopped the boundaries and check the run rate.. which they failed...

so overall it was a combination of lackluster bowling by BD and great batting by India

Okay okay. You win against Bangladesh. Good. Now move on, your team will get thrashed by Endland is my prediction. With this bowling you need the batting click everytime and that is not gonna happen.

About the Irish captain, good for him! He is the captain and there is nothing wrong dreaming big. We just need to play well and they dont have a chance against us!

what with this bowling .. have you been watching cricket recently..? Indian bowlers won us matches (Test and One Day in SA) and one match against Aussie (practice match)...
our batting is supposedly so good compared to our bowling that bowlers gets all the bad raps..and opposition does the same mistake of taking them lightly...

I was a vivid follower of Indian cricket team few years back, not anymore. I dont have the time to watch the Indian matches but I do follow whats going on around. Your media would make any just above average bowler like Zahir the best pacer around and harbhajan the best spinner ever, that I know. Anyways, I just made a prediction and lets see if it comes true!

Thanks . Sorry if I hurt you in anyway. It is getting hard these days to find Indians cheering for Bangladesh. I do not want to loose one.

Spinning track or not, it will not be an easy match. They have good seamers and our batsmen sometimes struggle against the seamers. We have to go about this match very professionally.

India gonna loose against England that's a tough prediction if Windies can have a win against South Africa then anything is possible ;

India is on the right track to get the cup so far ;

But the great news is ;

To win against Bangladesh is an upset for others

Atleast we have passed that tough time already ;

A half-century from Ireland's Andre Botha secured a four-wicket win for the Irish against Zimbabwe in their World Cup warm-up in Nagpur.
