In our current state of strength, we will always be in the group of death. We ARE THE ONE that make it the group of death.

The way we escaped against Ireland should give the boys a lot of confidence so lets just get on a winning role and not rely on other teams results

I think it's too early to say if there is any impact at all of this tie on us. Our target is still to make sure we win againt WI and NL. Let's go big gun against WI first and we can talk about these only if the outcome of the game goes against us. We still have few footnotes, aestricks etc. to be closed down by winning the game against WI - which I don't see any reason why we can not!

This just reduced our probability of overtaking England significantly.

It also made the West Indies game more like a knock out game.

We will have to win more than just 3 games. WI, Neth, Irl, and one more. What if WI wins 4 games? vs Neth and Irl and also vs Ind and Eng? Specially against Eng? You never know.

The result of this game doesn't matter. We will have to beat 4 teams to get to the quarters.

Indeed Rubu bhai. If we can beat WI (yes, we CAN), England and South Africa will be in tremendous pressure while playing against the Tigers, thus, we will have the upper hand...

Let's worry about us winning our games 1st and then worry about other results.

Good point. Our next hurdle is WI. We must win to clear our way to quarterfinal. May Allah help us, ameen.

here's the way things were expected to be...

India 10-12 pts
SA 8-12 pts
England 8-10 pts
Bangladesh 6 pts
WI 4 pts
Ireland 2 pts
Netherlands 0 pts

and now it might be that

India 9-11 pts
SA 8-12 pts
England 9-11 points
Bangladesh 6 pts
WI 4 pts
Ireland 2 pts
Netherlands 0 pts

So i dont think it changes things drastically...if things go to the current rankings - a reasonably big/small if - then we should still qualify.

however if we beat WI, and they beat any of the top 3...then NRRs will come into play just as it would had this game had a result. So it really doesn't matter that much in the most likely scenarios.

Lol guys, take it easy. Even if WI wins one or two against one of Ind-SA-Eng, this would mean less wins for one of Ind-SA-Eng, and therefore, may bring that particular team's points level with us. But ye, NRR would be crucial. Dhurr, I'm lost! To hell with this, let's just win the next game.
