I will not put my money on it. Chris Gayle and Darren Bravo are enough for Dutch.

Today's game between Ned vs WI will push Bangladesh down below 4th position in the points table.

I dont think this is good news for us. It does impact us because England needed to lose!! Now we have to beat them and still wait for NRR calculations. It is boiling down to winning 4 matches and while that is not impossible, it is only allowing us 33% failure rate!! So, we need to beat either of the 2 from England, South Africa, West Indies.. and assuming we beat Netherlands with a solid margin..

Since we lost to India already, it whould have been best for us if India won. In my view, SA is the most balanced team in this group, and favorite against ENG and WI, assuming India obviously being favorite to win against WI in there home. So at the end, any of the loser between ENG and WI was our realistic target, and a win against them would have put us NET run rate contender for QF race. Now, even if we win against ENG, we have to depend on WI must win against ENG. ... otherwise ENG will go through regardless NET run rate.

Ok, folks, most likely scenario...

BD beats WI
ENG beats WI
IND beats SA
BD beats NET
SA beats BD
SA beats ENG
IND beats WI
ENG beats BD

so that means

India 5 wins, 1 tie --> 11 points
SA 5 wins, 1 loss --> 10 points
England 4 wins, 1 loss, 1 tie --> 9 points
Bangladesh 3 wins, 3 losses --> 6 points

we can still make it under the most likely scenario.

yes, WI can upset someone, but i just dont see that happening...they havent beaten a top side since 2009.

I think South Africa will do worse than most people are thinking. We have a very good chance to beat them. They may also lose to India and/or England. So, I think the final standing will be like this:

1. India 11 Pts
2. England 9 Pts
3. South Africa 8 Pts
4. Bangladesh 8 Pts
5. West Indies 4 Pts

After March 4th, we will find the glimpse of who is going where. This is too early to ponder about NRR.

One thing for sure "have to kill every beast on our way". Kill them all!!!

Given SA's well-known problem against spin, they may very well do this. If we don't get destroyed by Steyn, I think we have a pretty good chance of beating SA. But, first let's beat WI.

Agreed. Run rate is the other big issue, hopefully we can improve it in the coming games.

Bangladesh 3 wins, 3 losses --> 6 pts
West Indies 2 wins, 4 losses --> 4 pts
Ireland 2 wins, 4 losses --> 4 points

in other words, we should still make the group. but now its wide open. and we haven't helped ourselves with NRR since our pitches are so low scoring compared to Bangalore and even Colombo.

Tigers have to win against WI first, then we might have some hope...

Confused a bit...we have two points and England has one point, still they are better than us because of RR!
