Somewhat similar to the difference between Sehwag and Yusuf of India. Even though both Sehwag-Yusuf are more consistent than Gayle-Pollar.

Yes, somewhat similar, with an important nugget though. India still has Tendulkar, Kohli, Yuvraj and Dhoni and on a given day, each can take the game away from you. WI batsmen are good, but not even close to the class of those four. So, Gayle is super important. If he does very well, chances are that Pollard will add to it quickly.

Couple of thoughts:
Guys no amount of statistical analysis beats watching the game. Based on that -
Devon Smith is a walking wicket. Netherlands kept feeding him balls on the offside, which is just about the only area where he can score. Anytime the ball was at him, on an off and mid line, he couldn't do jack. Just get Rubel/Shafi/Razzak to come around the wicket at him and he'll be LBW or snick it.
Gayle is a known nervous starter and needs to feel for his first boundary. Plus he's trying to do a Shewag and stay at the crease longer. If we don't give him anything drivable, and keep things tight for a bit, he's likely to go for a hoik and with the slowness of the pitch, miscue the shot.
Chander will be hard to dislodge - perhaps a searing Rubel in-ducker.
Sarwan - seems slightly off his game. Is a dangerous player but perhaps we can get him like we have in the past. Play on his compulsive pulling. Bowl it back of length on off and get him to hole out.
Pollard - dangerous customer. We might have to buy his wicket by inviting him to have a go early in his innings and play on him not getting a clean hit due to the slow nature and then use SBNS's larger boundaries.
Bowling wise, I thing we are over-worrying about Roach. He was fiery in Windies too and if you recall, Jamie praised our batters in their ability to handle his express pace. Against better sides Roach has been expensive because his fuller lengths can be driven by a batter who's willing to go on the front feet against him.
Benn can be a handful as he'll get the new ball to bounce and our TIKs and IKs will have to watch their horizontal bat shots against him when he opens.
The rest of the squad is a'ight - we should do ok against them.
