What Happened to Bangladesh's Tour of India?

Bangladesh was supposed to tour India this April. Then India postponed the series due to their packed international calendar and some other commitments. Other than the postponement news, there is no update available on this tour. Will Bangladesh tour India at all or has it been completely cancelled? Now I see India has no international matches until October. Is there any chance of Bangladesh's tour of India during this India's April-October gap?

It's gonna be discussed later . They are not worried about that tour anymore . They are going on a bad time now , no coaches been selected as yet . New Coach also ranked almost last at one day . Most probably it's early next year in feb may be . Also we need some times to get us going too .

i dont think bangladesh will be playing india this year. i think that tour was postponed till next year. after england we play srilanka as far as i know. and then in january we play a return series against srilanka. other then that we dont have much international cricket this year. i hope bcb can add couple of more serieses. we can go play zimbabwe. that would be good. if we cant get any more international tournaments we should hold a domestic firsst class league at home with the club teams. where foreign players could play. i think that would help and it would also be exciting. not much as international match though.

The Indians got scared!.....Whatever the rankings the truth of the matter is India are 8th and we are 9th as far as ODIs go at the moment....Last year they played 22 matches and won 9 (5 of them against us,Kenya,Zimbabwe and UAE!!!)......We actually did better than them in the last one year winning 6 matches (4 against Zims,1 against HK and 1 against them) and playing less matches than them......So u know......an ODI series against India is a case of whoever bats first wins.....I doubt whether they'll be able to chase a target around 250 against us.....The Indian Board took all these things into consideration and saved themselves of being humiliated by us...Its pretty simple really...cheers.....

বিসিবির শীর্ষস্থানীয় দুই কর্মকর্তাকে একটু বিব্রতই দেখাল। বিব্রত করলেন ভারতীয় ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের (বিসিসিআই) প্রধান প্রশাসনিক কর্মকর্তা রত্নাকর শেঠি। বিসিবির কর্মকর্তাদের সামনেই শেঠির কাছে এই প্রতিবেদক জানতে চেয়েছিলেন, ভারতে গিয়ে কবে পূর্ণাঙ্গ সিরিজ খেলবে বাংলাদেশ? শেঠি হাসলেন এবং পাশেই দাঁড়ানো বিসিবির কর্মকর্তাদের দেখিয়ে বললেন, ‘ভালো হয় প্রশ্নটা যদি ওনাদের জিজ্ঞেস করেন।’

ঘটনাটা গেল বিশ্বকাপের আগের। বিশ্বকাপের উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানের প্রেজেন্টেশন দেখতে ঢাকায় এসেছিলেন টুর্নামেন্ট পরিচালকের দায়িত্বে থাকা শেঠি। ‘বাংলাদেশ কবে ভারতে যাবে’ প্রশ্নটা বিসিবির কোর্টে ফেলে দেওয়া স্বাভাবিকই ছিল। টেস্ট ক্রিকেটে ১০ বছর কাটানোর পরও যে বাংলাদেশ এখন পর্যন্ত একমাত্র ভারতে গিয়েই টেস্ট খেলল না, তাতে বিসিসিআইয়ের চেয়ে বিসিবির দায় তো কম নয়! বাংলাদেশ ভারতে গিয়ে খেললে সেই ক্রিকেট বিক্রি হয় না বলে ভারতের যেমন অনীহা; বিসিবিও মনে করে, নিজেরা না গিয়ে ভারতকে এখানে এনে খেলাতে পারলেই তো কোষাগার স্ফীত হয়! বাংলাদেশ দলকে নিজেদের দেশে না নিতে বিসিসিআইয়ের অনড় অবস্থানের সামনে বিসিবির অভিযোগ-অনুযোগ সবই যেন কপট, করতে হয় বলে করা। শেষ পর্যন্ত দুই পক্ষের জন্যই সহজ শর্ত ‘তাহলে তোমরাই আমাদের দেশে খেলতে আসো’ জুড়ে দিয়ে বিজয়ীর হাসি হাসতে চান বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেট কর্তারা।
২০০০ সালে টেস্ট অভিষেকের পর গত সাড়ে ১০ বছর এই করেই চলছে এবং সম্ভবত আগামী ১০ বছরও চলবে। ২০১২ সালের জুন থেকে ২০২০ সালের এপ্রিল পর্যন্ত প্রস্তাবিত নতুন এফটিপিতেও ভারতে বাংলাদেশের কোনো পূর্ণাঙ্গ সফর নেই। এই আট বছরে ভারতের বিপক্ষে বাংলাদেশ শুধু দুটি হোম সিরিজই খেলবে, এর একটি আবার টেস্টবিহীন সিরিজ! ২০১৪ সালের মে মাসে তিন ওয়ানডের সিরিজ, পরের বছরের মে মাসের সিরিজটা দুই টেস্ট ও তিন ওয়ানডের। বিষয়টির যাঁরা ভালো ব্যাখ্যা দিতে পারতেন, বিসিবির সেই প্রধান নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা বা ক্রিকেট পরিচালনা কমিটির প্রধান কেউই এখন দেশে নেই। নাম প্রকাশ না করার শর্তে বোর্ডের এক শীর্ষস্থানীয় কর্মকর্তা অবশ্য আশার গান গাইলেন, ‘এবার একটা কিছু হবে। কোনো একটা ফাঁকা সময়ে ভারত আমাদের সিরিজ খেলতে ডাকবে। সে রকমই কথা আছে।’
এ রকম কথা আগেও ছিল এবং সেসব কথা কথাই থেকে গেছে। আপাতত তাই এই আশঙ্কাটাই প্রবল—টেস্ট অভিষেকের ২০ বছর হয়ে যাওয়ার পরও সবচেয়ে কাছের ভারত দেশটা অদেখা থেকে যাবে বাংলাদেশের টেস্ট দলের!

অবশ্য গত মার্চ মাসে চূড়ান্ত হওয়া প্রস্তাবিত এফটিপিতে ভারতই একমাত্র হতাশা বাংলাদেশের জন্য। নইলে আগামী আট বছরে বাংলাদেশ হোম সিরিজ খেলবে ১৭টি, অ্যাওয়ে সিরিজ ১০টি। আগামী জুলাইতে হংকংয়ে অনুষ্ঠেয় আইসিসির বার্ষিক সভায় এফটিপি অনুমোদন হয়ে গেলে আট বছরে বাংলাদেশ টেস্ট খেলবে কমপক্ষে ৫০টি (এফটিপির প্রথম এক বছরেই ছয়টি)। আগের এফটিপি থেকে নিউজিল্যান্ড ও অস্ট্রেলিয়ার বিপক্ষে দুটি করে চারটি টেস্ট ‘পাওনা’ আছে। এর বাইরে আগামী আগস্টের জিম্বাবুয়ে সিরিজ থেকে কাটা পড়া একটা টেস্টও যদি প্রতিশ্রুতি অনুযায়ী পরের বছরের সিরিজে পাওয়া যায়, তাহলে টেস্টের সংখ্যা আরও বাড়বে।

বিশ্বকাপ, এশিয়া কাপ এবং ২০১৪ সালের মার্চ ও অক্টোবরে দেশের মাটিতে অনুষ্ঠেয় দুটি তিন জাতি সিরিজ বাদ দিয়ে দ্বিপক্ষীয় সিরিজে ওয়ানডে খেলার কথা কমপক্ষে ৭৯টি এবং টি-টোয়েন্টি ম্যাচ ১৭টি। তবে ২০১৪ সালে বাংলাদেশে অনুষ্ঠেয় টি-টোয়েন্টি বিশ্বকাপের আগের চার মাসে একটিও আন্তর্জাতিক টি-টোয়েন্টি ম্যাচ নেই সূচিতে। একই ভাবে খসড়া এফটিপিতে ইংল্যান্ডে অনুষ্ঠেয় ২০১৯ বিশ্বকাপের আগে প্রায় দুই মাস বাংলাদেশের কোনো আন্তর্জাতিক সিরিজ নেই। অবশ্য দ্বিপক্ষীয় সমঝোতার মাধ্যমে এ রকম ফাঁকা সময়ে এফটিপির বাইরেও সিরিজ আয়োজন করে থাকে দেশগুলো।

প্রস্তাবিত এফটিপিতে আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেট থেকে বাংলাদেশ দল লম্বা ‘ছুটি’টা নেবে ২০১৭ সালের ফেব্রুয়ারিতে পাকিস্তান সফরের পর। পরের সিরিজ বাংলাদেশের খেলার কথা আট মাস পর, ওই বছরেরই অক্টোবরে দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকা সফরে। আর বিদেশ সফরে লম্বা বিরতি পড়ে যাচ্ছে নতুন এফটিপির শুরুতেই। আগস্টে জিম্বাবুয়ে সফরের পর চলতি এফটিপিতেই বাংলাদেশের পাকিস্তান সফরের কথা আছে। ২০১০ এর আগস্টে স্থগিত হওয়া সিরিজটি এফটিপির সর্বশেষ সংস্করণে সরিয়ে ২০১২ সালের এপ্রিলে নেওয়া হয়েছে। কিন্তু কাগজে-কলমের সেই সফর বাস্তবে রূপ নেওয়ার অনিশ্চয়তা সবারই জানা। পাকিস্তানে যাওয়া না হলে আসন্ন জিম্বাবুয়ে সফরের পর আরেকটি সফরের জন্য অপেক্ষায় থাকতে হবে পাক্কা এক বছর। ২০১২ সালের আগস্টে সেই সফরটিও জিম্বাবুয়েতেই।

Its not gonna happen unless we keep on humiliating them.....i bet if we managed to win the odi series against them after 2007 world cup, and somehow not allowed them to win any of the tests.....they would have invited us backk......but we gotta beat them every now and then...once in every 10 matches is not gonna work.....

They are rank 2 in ODI, just Won the ODI world cup

We played 27 and won 9
Sehwag challenged us for WC and smashed us all around the ground. They put 373 right here in our backyard

I don't know where you got your stats from. Stop spreading misinformation. They don play us for the fact that we don't excite the home crowds and BCCI won't be earning much. So rather they tour us. This is the fact and we have to live with this hard fact. Unless we don't improve as a team and get out for 58 and 78 we will in future have problem for tour with SA or Aus or Eng too.

This is not good, I mean, don't they see the amount of business they can make from making these two cricket mad nations play each other in India? The TV deals will be mad, and it will promote ties between the countries.

It is exactly due to this reason that BCCI does not host BD because it is not a lucrative prospect for them. Rather they settle in visiting BD where BD also earns money and India so called comes as a frnd of BCB which BCCI uses for voting for crucial decision
