Default MSN attack

I am so proud of our all rounder trio
MSN

Mahmudullah
Sakib al hasan
Nayeem islam

this trio are performing exceptionally well in all form. i think they should be selected for all 3 format of game and nayeem should bat upper order. This trio definitely makes selecting team combination much easier, either in batting or bowling. we can choose extra spinner or extra bowler depending on match situation.

since rafiq retired-- we didnt have spin trio like rafiq-razzaq and sakib (then sakib was not a full bowler)

any team management will be proud of have such a talented combo

look at their stats

Don't underestimate mah man Razzak. He may be having trouble adjusting to his new action now, but he WILL have a few hundred wickets (at least in ODIs) by the end of his career.

Of those 3, Naeem is the weak link. I dont think he is a good enough bowler, proably a better batsman but havent seen him bat very well either. Razzak is far better than him. The 3 spinners should be razzak, sakib and riyad(ODI and T20) for tests Razzak should give way to Enamul. When Mashrafi is fit he should replace Naeem anyway.

MSN is our trio of allrounders. Razzak isn't an allrounder. So he's not in the domain set to start with.

How often does he get chance to bat? or face at least 25+ deliveries?

I think He should bat up the order. He's a better batsman than a bowler. Dunno why he's being used as a bowling Allrounder. His List A batting stats are sparkling.

i'm a massive fan of this trio and would like to see both naeem and riyad batting higher in the order but who can you push down the order to make way for them? in ODIs you could push rahim down the order so that they're batting a spot higher but one of them would still be batting at 7 then. to get naeem in the test team you'd have to drop a batsman, but i reckon if they were to do that then they'd move rahim up the order to fill the spot.

I see Naeem as a replacement player, if he was replaced by mash, that would have been the perfect team against a g8 side on a normal pitch.

If Naeem is a better batsman than bowler , he can replace Raqibul at number 4, then Sakib 5, Riyad 6, Raqibul 7 and Mushfiq 8. I remember Mahanama playing at number 7 for Srilanka in the 1996 ODI WC. Raqibul is not suited for ODIs or T20s, ideally Aftab should have been in that place.

raqibul at 7 as a specialist batsman with his non-hitting ability at the international level is not a good idea. raqib has to bat top 6 at the very least, preferably at 4 or 5. naeem is a better choice for #7 than raqib because naeem can hit the ball far even against quality bowling. rahim as the keeper and not a vital part of the ODI batting order (unlike raqibul who is a vital part) can be afforded to bat at 7 or 8 although with guys like mash and razzak in the team i could easily see them being batted ahead of rahim if a few quick runs are needed at the time.

as for raqibul not being a ODI player that's not true, he's averaging over 28 which is more than most of the guys in the team, he already has 5 half centuries in ODI cricket (only played 24 matches).

totally agree, Nayeem is not a first choice, his bowling is decent, and so is his batting. But I doubt its sufficient to create a place for him in the team.
the truth is, if 11 of our players are performing well, and there is some 12th man, who bats well, [i.e. aftab] then Naeem wil be the one making space for him, same goes for a new bowler. I think Shakib/razzak/Riad/Mashrafe/Rubel/rasel.....this should be our bowling line up. Ashraful as a back up bowler,

Lol..me too. I thought the players finally got revenge on some fans thru msn.

No, I don't rate Naeem's batting or bowling too highly. He can hit a little bit, but his high average is due to the fact that he plays slow innings to boost his average and stay not out, often when the other team's already won. Haven't seen him bat for the team too much.

Bowlingwise, he's ok. But Razzak's far better in ODIs, and Sakib's integral. RIght now, RIyad also shows great promise, so he'd have to go moment Mashrafee comes back or we just need 3rd pacer. Only way he cud stay is if he can bat well in no. 6/7. That is, score quickfire 25-40 runs on regular basis.

naeem and riyad are both good batsmen, but neither have got a proper chance, i hope batting them so low in the order so often isn't hampering their development because i've no doubt these 2 players are 2 of the best learners and workers of the team.
