I do believe a huge contribution to our win tonight has been the support of the fans who stayed with the team till the end. I saw the same spirit, belief and support when I was at the stadium during the opening match, India vs Bangladesh. Though we lost, I hope to share a small taste of what the fans are like and what it is to be rooting for Bangladesh at SBNS. I could not take HQ videos and pictures inside the stadium as the ICC gate Nazi wouldn't let my dSLR in. My phone charge was rapidly diminishing so you see all the video's I've got.
This what I just said in a different thread. I know my statement could spark arguement but I fear I'm right.

I know crowd that are always there with Bangladesh irrespective of the importance of the match deserve to attend all games but when it comes to WC, support for the team alone does not give one the affordibility, wallet does which is directly related to one's means.
Let's not deconstruct the whos or the whys. Let us all celebrate irrespective of the size of our wallets.
There were 50-70 thousand people outside SBNS on the eve of the opening game. The ones without tickets. They were their hooting and hollering and celebrating Bangladesh cricket. Not all had a fat wallet.
Many thanks Zunaid bhai for sharing the video.
Regardless of class, we all love our Tigers IMO. Cricket is our passion - no other games gave our fans so much to cheer what cricket did.

Z bhai (now that I saw your pic I guess it's safe to call you that),
I'd totally agree, it was stupid of me......been up all night and now too excited to sleep almost like everyone here....my judgement is getting rather hasty.
From this huge support base, I believe we can get some more quality players like Shakib and Tamim in the near future. But, our talent hunting program need to be managed wisely.
Can BCB find the right set of people and resources to perform this job in the near future?

I love the bhua. That's so mild compared to the boos and more you'll hear in the football stadiums out in my new country. If anyone has ever been to my beloved Eagle's home and the old Veterans stadium - bhua bhua chat is like a lover's kiss.

I reside in Dhanmondi...where? Let's just say a stones throw away from the Lake...and the post match celebrations would have done a Super Bowl, Champions League win justice
Traffic brought to a complete standstill(thank God, it was a friday night), and chants that went on well into the night...
@betaar - your analysis of the situation is completely off...ticket prices were high, especially those who bought from scalpers...but the noise, the roar you hear is not from the well off....the backbone of this country are the poor..the masses, and the crowd yesterday reflected that.
That victory lap showed (- even for a win against Irl) how this certain win means to Bangladesh and Bangladesh cricket team. Opponent didn't matter, team celebrated like we made the Semis. That victory lap showed that our team noticed, and realized the different atmosphere in the stands. I mean it's always a full house in any Bangladeshi cricket match in Bangladesh, but the last 2 matches felt way larger and louder, even though the crowd amount was about 10k smaller. Hell, old men flew from all over to watch the game from the stadium. So Ian Pont's request to fans was heard, and it is time to repay the fans.
