I hope nd wish that he playes test cricket,
But, ill not be surprised if he makes a call to quit test,
it is an easier option to prolong ur career by playing only limited over games ( bowling only ten overs a day max), where as test matches is physically more demanding...
however bd doesnt play a lot of test in a year so that might put him off from retiring

I do not think Mortaza is the one who would choose ODI over Test. The only concern and negating body language we find in him cos' of the injury and fragile nature of his fitness.
He needs rest not full rebuttal.

This is probably far from the thoughts of Mashrafee atm and IMO no bluddy way!

I don't think he should retire from tests just yet, he is probably our most experienced bowler and we can't afford to not have him in the test side. I reckon he still has another 2-3 years in him.

i agree. if he can't do both, he should focus on ODIs.
of course, the ideal situation is to play both.

I don't think it's time. Considering his past, Mash has to pay better attention to his fitness level, warm ups, pre & post session stretches and his diet. Alongside, if he keeps working on his swing & variations, he will become more lethal than ever in tests.
I don't want him to stick around just to help the team. Actually, he is finally at an age where his ready to produce his best performance with the ball. It will not require Brett Lee type speed. If you guys remember, in the last few performances, he improved his length a great deal. His line is also simply getting better. With those and swing, he is just going to get better. He will claim a lot more wickets now. All he has to do is keep a sharp eye on his fitness level.
And, oh yes, quit smoking...

Hopefully he is there in test...he always takes at least a couple of wickets in an innings....and in ODIs he is easily our biggest match winning bowler!!!

Good Thinking. By now one thing is proved, Mashrafe is not fit enough (physically) for international cricket. Either he has to gain his fitness or he has to control his bowling to minimize pressure. It is very difficult to gain fitness for him after having those operations. His leg will not support it. What is the suggestion from Physiotherapist? As I read in newspaper, he is optimistic about Mashrafe. So, we can expect him to come back properly. Now it is the decision of Mashrafe what he will do. I hope he is mature enough to take the right decision.
One thing he can do is not to play more than 1/2 matches in domestic level. This time he has to play before coming back to National team but from next time, he can avoid that for having enough rest. Still, We (
Bangladesh) need his full support in National team.

mash should do wat flintoff has done - give up tests so that he doesn't get as many injuries and at least is able to contribute to our growth by being on the ODI ad T20 teams consitently;
otherwise we are left with mash injuried all the time - being a help to no one

To revive his career, Mashrafee should convert from FB to spinner. And he should start taking his batting more seriously.

No. Mashrafi should look at how pacers handle age around the world. There are few pacers who have bowled well in relatively older age, like McGrath, Hadlee et al. They reduced the pace and depended on accuracy and experience. Mashrafi can learn from them.
The key is to learn how to be a pacer when you are 30+. Because his experience and stature is very rare to come by, we can't afford to waste that.

I think a better example for Mash would be the Sultan of Swing, Wasim Akram. Here's a man that reduced his speed substantially, and increased accuracy and swing so much. He got half of his wickets after he was diagnosed with diabetes. In the least, Mashrafee can pick up the yorker tricks from this magician.
