Positives and Negatives from the first T-20 match
Positives
-Our fielding
Simply superb effort in the outfield apart from good backing up while throwing
-Rubel and the debutant Arafat Sunny's bowling
Really gives us more options now during the middle overs and at the death
-Anamul Haque
Having been dropped from the Test side, he played with a very matured head and took the fight till the last over.
Negatives
-First six overs
We need to take the pressure off the middle order batsman because after the pp the field is spread out and it is hard to score boundaries from a progressively slower wicket. We need a Kaushal Perera type innings from one of the openers
-Mashrafi and his death over troubles
Should have used Sunny fully during the middle and kept one over from Rubel for the death
-Strange team Selection
Why Mithun over Shabbir when we have anamul?
Why Farhad reza over Ryad?
Why so many bowlers leaving such a long tail of Arafat, Rubel, Gazi, Mash and Reza?

The only PROPER reason for our loss was horrible team selection. I had ZERO faith in Mithun and Feza to be able to score quick runs at the end.
If we had played Riyad and Sabbir, we would have won. And knowing these 2 were coming, the pressure would not have been much on the shoulder of others.

Postives to take from the 1st t20 are loads; restricted the best t20 side under 170 on pitch which was flat while lankans were batting, BD Scored well in the 1st 6 overs, off to good start. were in the game throughout the match and should have won in the end.
lots of positives to take from against current best t20 side in the world.

Rubel's bowling surprised me. He got sharp bounces and good pace today (142 according to faulty speed gun). I hope he carries this form to the ODIs.
Mash's bowling rotation was okay except the decision to bowl in the last over.
Anamul is good for this format. Shamsur was playing well and middling all. Tamim as usual runs out of batteries. Nasir needs to step up.
Gazi has been very poor from the test series. It's time to drop him.
The chase was tailor made for Mushy. He is the smartest player in the team who plays according to situations. Mithun Ali's keeping is worse than Mushy. After seeing Shuvo in Test and Mithun's keeping in this T20, I think Mushy is the best keeper in the country.

This
Lots of positives for us. The negatives are not something one can be too bothered about- umpiring and selection...oh and luck as well

Positive:
Bijoy..This game had Bijoy written all over the place. But unfortunately, we fell 2 runs short
Fielding: Outstanding efforts from the boyz today
Mash: He gave away only 8 runs in the last over and picked up a wicket. This was hic come back match. So I will be easy on him
Negatives:
Sanga's attitude: Still cant believe I saw Sanga behaving in that manner
Umpires: Well nothing new really. Got used to those idiotic decissions by now
Reza: Why was he in the squad again???

Ditto.
I have a feeling that after getting a target of 169. The opening stand wasn't fast enough. Middle order choked or they got a little lazy. Shakib and Nasir's out say so, they got out playing cheap shots. And afte 5th position we had no reliable batsman.
Seriousness was not there.

Although our catching was outstanding today but backing-up was very poor which gave them many overthrows, especially that 5-run overthrow in Rubel's over ended up being most costly.

some not so obvious reasons behind our loss:
- Overthrows. In most plays, there were no fielders backing up the stumps and the throws
- Tamim : 30 in 26 with 6 4's. That means 6 in 19 (leave out the dismissal ball). Too many dots by a top order.
- Tamim again : Not picking up those extra singles or converting singles to 2s. Both for himself and for his partners
- Lack of attacking field setting when new batsmen come in

With a horrible test series, he was playing to keep his as$ in the team. Selfishly having dot balls after dot balls.
Attacking field setting needs guts. The captains the think tank we have are all sissies.
For me "no" positive. It hurts more when coming so close yet losing. One victory against the top side of the world, would have given the ranking points we needed to go past many in the standings.

well all the positives and negatives have been mentioned. I liked Mash's captaincy overall except his decision to bowl a straight 3rd. As a captain, he had to bowl the last over and other than the six, he bowled well. He got 2 yorkers right and nearly had 2 more. Shows he is getting the trick. We need Mashrafe so the quicker he improves the better.
Tamim's innings was dissapointing. I dunno if he considers himself as someone than can accelerate later and end up with a big score... because he cant. He is a quickfire 30-40 type player and should stay like that.
Regarding the selection, I am glad the experiments and last chances are all happening now rather than the T20 WC. Mithun wont be part of the WC squad and unless Reza can pull off a blinder, he wont be in either. It was unfair to call him up for T30 best on his FC results anyways. Gazi, well go ahead and give him another shot but if doesnt improve dramatically, we have Arafat who performed well, we have Raj who has much better record in the format and truth be told, this slot can easily be taken by Riyad who has the capability to bowl a tidy 2-3 over spell. When Mushy comes back, this is how the squad should fare
Tamim
Shamsur
Anamul
Shakib
Mushy
Nasir
Shabbir
Riyad
Mashrafe
Arafat/Raj
Rubel/Al Amin

Positives :
> On field and third umpires' serving of plated match dinner to the tourists ...
> Sanga's bulling saga over Tamim
> Squad selection - even monkey can select a better team than what Faruq and Co. did...

Negative? Playing 2 keepers instead of our best domestic t20 batsmen..and worse that keeper is possibly the worst keeper to have ever played for us.

Yes Anamul got some runs and yes he almost won the game for us. But beyond this game, one thing really worry me about him is: his footwork or lack of it. Looks like his legs are stucked in concrete. I don't see with this kind footwork (or lack of it), how he will be successful in top order in TEST or even in ODI.
Yes there are quite a few players who have bad footwork and still survived in longer version of the game. But Anamul's footwork is almost non-existent.

Positives - Did not choke, rather put the fight on to the last ball. Catching was excellent. mid-over bowling was very good ... restricting Lanka to 168 was a decent job considering the first 6 overs.
Negatives - Ground fielding, overthrows, 1s into 2s. Bowling with field restrictions. Not willing to take risks early enough ...
