Roland St. Clair Toppin (CEO: Non Board Member)
In March 2007, Dr. Charles Roland St. Clair Toppin was appointed to the post of Chief Executive Officer of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA).
Dr. Toppin received his secondary education at Harrison College, Barbados, following which he went on to receive the B.Sc. (General) - Chemistry & Economics, Upper Second Class Honours degree from the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies, the Master of Science degree in Chemistry, from the University of Cincinnati and Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, also from the University of Cincinnati. In addition, his academic achievements include certificates in Personnel Management and Human Resource Development, Basic Accounting & Book-keeping and Fundamentals of Database Management, all with Distinction, from the Barbados Institute of Management and Productivity. In addition, he holds a certificate in “The Chairman’s Programme” from the Irish Management Institute in Ireland.
Dr. Toppin brings a wealth of experience from many disciplines to his new position as Chief Executive Officer of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA). He is a former Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the Raymond Walters College of the University of Cincinnati and Director of Research at the Sugar Technology Research Unit of the Barbados Agricultural Management Company where he was in charge of the sugar factory research arm of the Barbados sugar industry. Prior to joining the BCA, he held the position of General Manager of the multi-award winning, plastics recycling company, Duraplast Inc.
He is a former Director and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Barbados Investment and Development Corporation and former Chairman of IslandCrafts (B’dos) Inc.
Dr. Toppin is a member of the BCA and played club cricket in Barbados at all levels in his “younger days”. He is a health and fitness fanatic, works out in the gym or at home at least five days per week and is also a Certified Health Fitness Instructor by the American College of Sports Medicine.
