Noted Islamophobe says Obama was Muslim
http://www.danielpipes.org/article/5354
didn't read the article carefully...so perhaps someone else might be able to highlight exactly why DP thinks that obama was a practicing muslim.
as an important aside, DP is not against obama for supposedly being a muslim, at least not explicitly so. he is pointing out that obama as an apostate could potentially have difficulties, politically speaking, with the muslims world.

Grade 3? For crying out loud.
DP is saying Obama would be at risk if elected president. The Muslim world would then give fatwa to kill him because he was an "an irregularly practicing Muslim" when he was 7 and now he converted to another religion and became murtadd (apostate), (an ex-Muslim converted to another religion who must be executed).
The Drama continues and everyone fail to understand his age at that point and treat him as an adult.

Obama converted to another religion? Didn't know that.
Now, is fatwa applicable in US? If not, then some people is crying? I mean how it would create a problem even if he becomes the US president?

How is this possible if he wasn't a Muslim in the first place? He was a christian by birth and studied in a Muslim school.

I do rather love the "logic" displayed here by our friendly neighbourhood Islamophobe:
Quote:
"Interviews with dozens of former classmates, teachers, neighbors and friends show that Obama was not a regular practicing Muslim when he was in Indonesia" – implying he was an irregularly practicing Muslim.

Well I do know that his dad was a Kenyan Muslim, but he was an athiest after a while. His family moved to Indonesia, and Obama was learning Arabic reading over there, but when they moved to the United States, they converted to Christinaity
Quote:
He describes his Kenyan father as "raised a Muslim," but a "confirmed atheist" by the time his parents met, and his Indonesian stepfather as "a man who saw religion as not particularly useful." The chapter details how Obama, in his twenties, while working with local churches as a community organizer, came to understand "the power of the African American religious tradition to spur social change."

Mr Pipe along with his cohorts recently organized Islamo-Fascism week In different colleges here in USA. He is a well known in what he does.
There are people like him in USA mostly part of that Neo-Con group ( Some notable members are prominent Iraq war Proponents Richard perle, Paul Wolfowitz, Dick Cheney and so on ).
On the topic of Obama, Obama's grandfather was a Muslim. His father did not believe in anything even though he was a born Muslim. Obama was baptized when he was an adult and a practicing Christian for a while. The congregation he belongs to in Illinois came out in his support a while back. Also CNN carried out its own investigation and disputed any claim of him attending Madrassa in Indonesia or being Muslim .
But I suspect this issue is not going away. Specially if he becomes the Democratic party nominee. Republicans will try to "swift Boat " him with that claim.
