Default Orphaned again

In 1994, when the World Cup Soccer was held in the US, I along with a few friends saved up for months and made plans months in advance to make the best of it by going to as many games as possible. And we did. We had just started out in our professional lives and money and days off were scarce but we managed to make the best of it. The inevitable did happen and the Tournament ended. The feeling that prevailed then was best described my friend Angel form Madrid. He said, "I feel like an orphan".

I have the same feeling once again. After managing to watch most of the WC games live (thanks to Dish Network) I feel this void, feel a little lost.

Spoiled gatekeeper. dui din deri shojjo chochhey na. BD-Ind series is just 8 days left.

By the way, which games did you watch? Ironically I was in the same boat at '94. watch Holland-Saudi, and Holland-Brazil at Dallas. Both excellent games. Took a picture of Romario scoring the decider from right behind the goal post.

Honestly speaking I am kinda happy. To a certain extent, it affects my research work. Now I can motivate myself again on my job.

I won't be able to watch the BD-Ind series live.

I watched all but the first game held at Giant's stadium, including the one where Bulgaria beat Germany, Irelan-Italy and one of the semi-finals, one in Foxboro stadium ( Italy-Spain,I think) Mass, two in RFK Stadium in DC.

Actually during the first week when there were three games a day I was in Dhaka so all the noght owls had a great time at the Old DOHS (almost all the coconut were gone from the Houses)community center.

I will always cherish our little big victories against India and SA, even when we are consitent winners someday, may be even a WC contender. Otherwise this particular WC has been boring and disappointing to say the least, and most of it is best left forgotten. I'll probably get chastised for this, but I think as a tournament football WC is more entertaining.

Mentioning of the Holland-Brazil game, there were so many BD flags in the stadium. It was unbelievable. And after the game, about 50-60 BD guys from Oklahoma were marching with the Brazilian fans with the BD flags. We had another 1500 miles driving to NJ to watch the Italy-Bulgaria semi so missed the after game fun. But I remember before the game one of our friends who didn't have a ticket had managed to buy from the street....also from another Bangladeshi guy......And there were many in that business…incidentally my friend bought from an Arkansas BD gentleman…..no kidding tigers_eye..
