Would've been a good time to give liton and anamul some more experience no? I guess anamul is still in the bad books and liton just lost his place due to lack of performance but with tamim coming off injury I don't know why they didn't just rest him and give him more time to recover.

Pros:
- Excited to see "Mosaddek Hossain" get a chance - this (against afg) will be a good chance to test him out before a test call up.

Cons:
- Absolutely stunned by Shafiul over Al-Amin. IMHO, he is our second best pacer behind Fizz. This is ridiculous!

- Cant we do any better than Imrul? I mean seriously after playing 58 matches, his average is 27 striking at 65. Horrendous! I swear if he does another "khocha" outside off-stump....

Not a good start from the new selection team. Al Amin should have been included.

[QUOTE=Eshen;1913847]^^ Who are your death over bowlers?

আমিও ভাবছিলাম শেষ ওভারগুলাতে কে বোলিং করবে ? আল-আমিনকে বাদ দেয়াটা ঠিক হয়নি ।

Haturi is a fair guy and Al-Amin must've done something stupid to get excluded again. There were always concerns over his attitude and that interview does not seem to be helping his case much.

And it's not like we cannot survive without Al-Amin. Granted we are without our best duo Taskin-Fizz but Mashrafe-Rubel-Shafiul can definitely get the job done if they focus.

Both Mashraffe and Shafiul are awful at death bowling, whereas Al-Amin used to do a wonderful job bowling at fag-end of the innings. We're going to leak a lot of runs in the last 10 overs if we fail to take early wickets .

I would have preferred Rubel and Al-Amin bowling in the last 10 overs than any other option in absence of Fizz and Taskin.

i have a feeling one of Al Amin or Taskin will be announced before the first game. There is no justification for dropping Al Amin. Mash-Taskin-Al Amin... that would have been my ideal seam lineup

Well If it's true that the lad has disciplinary issues, this is not the first time...Fool me once, shame on you, but fool me twice, I have a problem. If truly he is a second time offender of disciplinary issues, he must be banned from the national team, I don't care if he is the next Mcgrath or Walsh on the making. When you are representing your country, it is a matter of utmost seriousness. You have to be perfect in every aspect. Even a tiny bit of flaw or any short-comings immediately and automatically disqualifies a person from bearing the national flag. I emphasize only on one thing, if it is really "true" that he's a 2nd time offender of discipline, just tell him 'thank you for your services' and show him the way out. Period.

^^ Chill, selectors later clarified there was no disciplinary issue with AA. They don't have any justification to leave him out, so made some vague comments about his lacking discipline in fielding and fitness (which also turned out to be false as AA was the second fittest in the prep camp).

^^ In that case the selectors are making a lame excuse to justify his non-selection. There must be a reason why the selectors chose SI over AA, we don't know that or we are not seeing the way things are and the selectors are seeing things from their perspective. Although common sense implies selection of AA over SI, certainly there's a reason for the selectors to choose SI over AA. Lets wait and see how this series goes and how the team selection is done on the English games both in test and ODI. Then I suppose we'll know why this anomaly.

Anyway, in the absence of the Fizz, I think Taskin and Rubel are capable enough for bowling on the death overs. Taskin with his booming high speed yorker along with a good slower delivery and Rubel with his fast reverse swinging yorker will be enough to decimate the opposition tail. While Mash the leader will use the condition and game-situation to his advantage using his genius brain and utilize his variation of speed, length, seam or whatever he does to get the crucial breakthroughs on tense moments. I think we'll do fine even with the unavailability of Al-Amin Hussain.

Walsh didn't pick Al-Amin because Al-Amin became habitually late in practice. Done!!!

Surprised Syed Rasel wasn't picked. He was pretty good against India.

People here would know that I have no liking for Al-Amin, but even I think he should be picked before Shafiul.
I hope shafiul proves us all wrong but I am not too optimistic.

Al Amin is 6ft 3 or 4 Gets more bounce action is awkward. Shafiul is tiny bowls up and down lollipops. I know who I would pick.
