Mourtoza to attend training camp at MRF Foundation

Mashrafi-bin-Mourtoza, country's fastest bowler, left for Mumbai on Monday to attend a two-month specialised fast bowling training camp at MRF Foundation.

Former Australian ace fast bowler Dennis Lillee will conduct the camp. Bangladesh Cricket Board has arranged Mourtoza's trip to Mumbai.

Mashrafi, who suffered a ligament injury, is expected to see the personal physician of Sachin Tendulkar to have some prescription from him.

Mourtoza is expected to return after two months before the West Indies making a tour of Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, BCB also sent another two medium pacers Tarik Aziz and Mohammed Sharif, who have some injury problems, to India for receiving better treatment.

Mourtoza is expected to return after two months before the West Indies making a tour of Bangladesh.

That recovery is after two months from NOW, which is just before the West Indies tour.

Mashrafi is getting treatmet in India because Tendulkar's Physician is probably a well-known physician. Mortaza is sent there to get a BETTER treatment which we all cried for. You might think Mortaza will bat like tendulkar if he gets treatman from tendu doc but NO.

It takes time to recover. Let the man take his time. Also, he is getting trained which is a brilliant idea. Why rush him?? I think everyone was blaming the BCB/physio/whoever they can - because they let Mortaza play too much innings causing his injury. So be consistent on your thoughts.

I don't know how much impact will it cause if Mortaza returns. Mortaza played against Zimbabwe only (not a strong side). He managed to get quiet a few wickets but Bangladesh lost by an innings + runs. So if you think Mortaza by himself will put an end to this embarrasments - think again. JUST HOPE FOR THE BEST!!

Naah, even if Masri returns, he won't be able to make our batsmen BAT, they obviously forgot how to bat.

I am more worried about IF Masri will be as effective after the long pause and also as good against the other sides as he was against Zimbabwe and the Indian state sides. With Masri, Manju will have a strong partner to open the attacks and those first few overs will be crucial. That is where we will see a little difference. Other than that, it'll be the same results.

Finally, I don't want to rush the boy anymore. Let him come back slowly. My new fear is, Masri will go to South Africa and play against STRONGER opponents and won't be able to do much. That will prompt "pundits" to write him off. I personally would give him a year or two to show his potential. If he turns into Shanto in a couple of years, I'd give up but till then, he'd be our golden boy (for me).

Draw-Lost by 8 wickets. All because of this guy. Remember in New Zealand we had them at about 4-40. It was one of the greatest moment in tests. Then they let it slip and New Zealand made us follow on. WE were unlucky in New Zealand. They were on a fanastic run and we could have broken it. I agree not to rush Masri. It takes 2 to 3 years for a fast bowler (fast medium or medium fast) to be really effective in the International stage.

Think of Nwan Zoysa, and now Dilhara Fernando. Sri Lanka has a reputation for its sports - personnels (in athelatics). And yet, Sri Lanka has suffered in producing and KEEPING the fast bowlers.

Compared to that, Bangladesh has reputation (if you call it so) only in shooting (no athelatics - no running - no physical staff). So, we will always have trouble of nurturing sports personnel - thus producing and keeping the fast bowlers.

A few couple of years back, Dilhara Fernando used to give away a lot of runs, used to be quite prone to injuries, and now look at him - yes he is also facing the dilemma of injuries, but he has developed a lot since then. For example - the slower ball of his that the TV commentators have discovered recently in Bangladesh's tour of Sri Lanka.

Does our fastest bowler (if he is 100% recovered in two months) know how to bowl slower balls also to disguise the slower ball? Does our fastest bowler can deceive a batsman with change of pace? Does our fastest bowler know how to bowl according to a specific line and length under pressure?

Answer: our fastest bowler does not know anything about these things - all he knows is how to bowl fast, which is nowhere near "accuracy".

Masri had the opportunity to work with some big names and now he will hopefully spend two constructive months in the MRF. If he is smart and eager, he will learn a few new tricks at the MRF.

You are correct, boss man. I think we are also learnig about physical fitness. I think we need to have ALSO 3 things happening-

1. A batting coach. A temporary man will be ok from time time time. It is good if he is the same person over and over again.

2. A cricket psycologist, how teaches patience, and gives confidence. But this is asking too much. I know people here are not like england and umrica , so they are less profesional.

3. A stable BCB
