Stuart Law returning to Bangladesh as batting consultant!
Remember Papon was hinting at another signing from Australia. Turns out its none other then our favorite Stuart Law. One of the news channels stated that Stuart Law is returning as a consultant. As much as I am delighted to have him back, I dont understand why we need both Samaraweera and Law for the same position. We need a spin bowling coach and I was hoping BCB would appoint someone for that role.

Any timeline? Samarweera is called in for a short period of time. Also, Law could potentially work with HP team.
Having said that, not sure if he was the most favorite (as stated by OP) when he was in BD. What did he accomplish while he was in BD? All I remember is that he left us high and dry... running back home only after a month or two.
Not too hyped about this pick.

Remember the 2-run defeat against Pakistan? He took us that close to what could have been our first major tournament win.

He was a decent coach for BD national team, not sure about his ability on batting consultancy though. His job [batting consultancy] with U-19 team was somewhat ok I think, then again it was about U-19 boys, cant read much in a short period of time either. Since BCB guys think that he should be the man then I think we should hope for the best and offer him a warm welcome.
BCB is doing some good job these days, for a long time in fact, so I would like to see as a good move.

Good job but I am concerned about BPL-4
How will BCB convince foreigners barring WI/Zim/Pak/SL/Afg to tour Bangladesh? Obviously AUS/England/SA/NZ hardly contribute to the list of players but they still have some quality freelance players which we would love to have

I guess the more support we get-the better. Dont think we have good enough local coaches for batting in Bangladesh.
I wish we got someone like Bevan for some short term stints though. I think we are still well below par when it comes to 2's, 3's. India for instance has really improved in this dept. Likes of Kohli, Raina, Dhini are very aggressive runners. At the slightest sniff they convert a single to 2. Our guys meanwhile play too much to the fielders, too many dots or just lazy singles. Even when two is there, they hesitate.

Jamie Siddons would have been a good batting consultant coach
