Tamim Captain? He hardly gonna play a game. lol
players to watch out from this squad:
Mominul, Nur Hossain and Nafis Iqbal(yes, he still has a chance to comeback as a test opener). Surprisingly, NO NOTABLE SLA in this team
Edit: Mominul Haque their Assitant coach...i hope its not the player Mominul.

Don't you guys think that, 3 points when a match is abandoned or washed out, is a little too excessive? Would have been ideal if it was 2 points.
And after doing all the hard work i.e.; an innings victory or a 10 wicket win, you just get a bonus point??

Indeed bro. Heartfelt congrats to Jamal and Menjis KC on its big win against the Bhrattitto SKS at the PHS! BSKS is a much better side than that but it simply wasn't their day. Handball, like its second cousin Kho-Kho, is a game of glorious uncertainties.
That being said, Narinda PBC, as usual, remains the team to beat in this world renowned tournament. Shurjodauy KC exposed their defensive lapses but I'm sure the Narinda lads will rectify that against the vastly overrated Merinarss and minnows Old Ideals. Chinu may have scored 7 against that pitiful side, but Didar will score at least 11 against each, you watch.

Four teams yet to submit squads
Sports Reporter
With only two days to go to the start of the National Cricket League (NCL), the country's lone first-class competition, only four of the eight divisional teams have submitted their squads to the BCB's tournament committee yesterday. Besides, there were no frantic activities or the pre-season preparations from the participating teams after a last-minute decision from the board to switch to the old format, putting the planned franchise-based league on hold for the time being.
“We have received squads of four teams as of today (Wednesday). We are expecting to get all the squads by tomorrow,” said Hafiz Joarder, member secretary of the BCB's tournament committee. . . . . .

Focus on internationals in NCL kick-off
Mohammad Isam
October 19, 2012
Tamim Iqbal hasn't played in the domestic first-class competition for the past five years
Defending champions Rajshahi Division will hog half the attention when they take on Dhaka Division in Mirpur in one of four opening-day matches in the National Cricket League on Saturday. The other half of the attention will be on several Bangladesh players who are expected to play the first two rounds of matches after the Bangladesh Cricket Board made their NCL appearances obligatory ahead of the West Indies series.
The most notable appearance would be that of Tamim Iqbal, captain of Chittagong Division that takes on Dhaka Metropolis at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium on the opening day. Tamim hasn't played in the domestic first-class competition for the past five years. In fact, Chittagong haven't availed his services since he made his Test debut, the last time being in November 2007. Tamim is not the only one however.

Sometimes, I'm perplexed about how the NT players rant about not getting enough Tests to improve in the longer format and yet decides not to play the domestic FC games. This is truly, Only in Bangladesh moment.

Interestingly enough, even Rangpur has a decent team this year.

If NCL is planned well, all the National team players could be available during NCL. That would help us to improve domestic standards. Any way we don't play enough international matches.
BCB knows the FTP, so they shout plan any extra international matches beyond FTP, well in advance and should remain firm on their decisions on NCL schedule.
If NCL is competitive, we won't be confused about the new comers and we won't bring in players prematurely...

Games that starts tomorrow:
Dhaka Metro v Chittagong D at Bogra
DM should easily win this. Have many good domestic bashers in their team, whereas CTG have players like Aftab But i will back ctg win coz they don't have any SLA
Player to watch: Ashraful(Dhaka), Mominul and Nur (CTG)
Khulna Div v Barisal Div at Khulna
Khulna should win. Balance team imho. Barishal have very young, and inexperience players like Liton Das, Kamrul Rabbi and AH Rony,(who got 9fer against uae?). desher shob LEFT arm seamer ra je dekhi ei team e (Rassel, Shafaq and Rony)
Player to watch: Kamrul Rabbi, Rony and Gazi(Barishal), Anamul Bijoy(Khulna)
Rajshahi Div v Dhaka Div at Dhaka
This is going to be the match of the round. Both have some promising young guns and couple of experience international players. Although Rajshahi have a very strong batting so Taskin and co have to bowl very well!
Player to watch: Zuniad, Zahirul(Raj), Taskin (Dhaka)
Sylhet Div v Rangpur Div at Rangpur
SYLHET not gonna win coz of their batsmans! Their batting is way to slow to win a match. But they have some fine seamers; Abu Jayed and Abul(sushhhhh) and ofcourse in form Enamul jr. On the other hand, Rangpur have decent all round team. Expecting Nasir and Nayeem to shine with the bat.
Player to watch: Enamul, Abu jayed and Abul (Sylhet), Nasir, Nayeem and Alauddin Babu(Rangpur)

Good preview Nadim but disagree that Metro has a cakewalk against CTG. Tamim alone can smash the Metro attack while they have the older Iqbal, Deccans and Nazim who are good domestic batsmen and then Mominulis close to breaking the national team. With the lineup they have, there could be a possibility that Aftab might not even make the XI.
Khulna should be able to smash Barisal. Rangpur/Sylhet is a low profile encounter which could be interesting. Game of the wk is obviously Rajshahi/Dhaka.

Chittagong look strong this year. If Tamim is in the mood he can take apart these domestic attacks with his eyes closed. Also if Mominul has a good season then it will propel him to the national team and maybe that's the motivation he needs to perform better in domestic games. Btw, I don't like having NT players as captains. They should be focusing on their individual game without any added burden before an important series. That's how it works in England/Aus/SA/Ind.

I would like to hear that they are doing something to make the pitches sporty. don't want to see 5 SLAs at the top of the bowlers list again. if Srilanka can do it why can't we? or did it happen miraculously in SL?

I'm actually really looking forward to the upcoming NCL season. I'll be following closely, provided the politics are kept away and the matches aren't played intermittently.

Nope. He's not ready for the longer version yet. So we'll be Mash-less against the WI in Tests

me to, they should be dominating. also want to see shuvagata make some runs, he needs to put his name back up there and the best way is to make loads of runs. i also hope dhiman makes a lot of runs this season, i want him pressuring mushy for the test keeper spot, it just might push mushy to the next level.
