Grading the players after the SLan test series (2017)
This is totally mine. Make your own and post it if you don't like it.
In the past, mostly I have criticized the teams, captains, coaches, mgmts, fans only for the love of the game. Knowing we could have done better. That being said...
Captain Mushfiq: Whatever the short comings are, you have led us to a series draw at a hostile environment after losing the tosses. Your 2nd innings 6th wicket stand with Shakib of 92 was crucial for this match. 5 dismissals and remaining notout over shadows all the faults. 193 runs with an average of 64 only second to Chandimal. Congratulations. A.
VC Tamim: Player of the match award says it all. That 49 lbw had a good ending I must say. 200+ runs in 4 innings. He is our Warner. He sets the tone. A
Shakib Al Hasan: A. Player of the series. Determination. Loved you for a thousand years; will love you for a thousand more.
Sarkar: He came, he saw, he took it to them. Future is bright. What a fielder!! A
Fizzzzzzzzzzzzzz: Stay healthy, serve the nation. We are already in debt to you. A.
Mizzzzzzzzzzzz: Future captain. 10 wickets @35 average and 31 average with the bat. A
Mosaddek: (Sohel bhai, ore dak nam ki? - miss you man) Be patient and good things happen to those who remain patient. A
Taijul: Under rated dark horse. A
Liton: Showed us what we were missing. Pray get well soon. A
Roy: Celebrate as there is no tomorrow. Well done. A.
Sabbir: Up / down the order, doesn't matter; 40 per innings. Not bad. Fielding outstanding. A
Imrul: In / Out. New role and everything. Duck and everything. A. (this is reward you deserved for NZ series. Bhulini amra)
Taskin: Unlucky with so many catches dropped. Focus on the next assignment. A.
Mahmudullah/Mominul: Part of the team. Behind the closed doors your encouragements count. A.

bai, you missed Miraz, he deserves 'A' too for his batting+bowling. He definitely showed us what a good batsman he is in this test series. Our young guns really looking the promising ones, as Nadim says future looking bright

The only A+ grade they deserve. Critics and well wishers. Without them there is no cricket.

You cheat you get an automatic F. A letter (Hard copy and an email) to the dean.
I did fail few and stopped them from having an MBA degree (sometimes second offense) in my 9 years of teaching. I took the capstone courses. No room for plagiarism was in my class. Stopped it in 2014. Now I just grade players.

Sabbir's 4th innings was crucial, imo he's not getting enough credit for it, if he had fallen quickly then this test match might've been won by a different team.

I had some doubts over Sabbir in the Test team...but he answered that. This was the big knock. This was more important than many of the meaningless-in-the-grand-scheme hundreds that Ashraful, Bashar, and even Tamim have hit in the past.
Tamim's knock was glorious as well. Mushfiq was solid. Shakib and Mosaddek did just enough with the bat to make sure there was no chance for SL (they didn't Mosaddek's wicket as they knew the game was gone by that stage).
Still I want to see Mominul in the top (preferably at #4). Mushy has what it takes to bat at #3. Musa can bat at 5.
Tamim
Soumya (Imrul bench opener)
Mushfiq
Mominul (Sabbir bench)
Mosaddek
Shakib
Nurul/Liton (whoever is better WK-bat)
Miraz
Taijul/Ebadat/Roy/Shahid (Rabbi/Shafiul bench - please no Rubel...EVER)
Taskin
Mustafiz
That is an awesome squad.

Everyone contributed.
Miraz - an unsung hero. His wickets and runs.
Sabbir - 42 and 41 was vital in the second innings.
Taijul - De Silva (set) and Herath wicket were big. Very big in the second innings.
Fizz - As the coach said it was the turning point when nothing was going on. 3 wicket burst in of few overs.

Overall a great Game
Most of the senior players performed and most the the young players contributed. over all not apparent dead woods, what a great overall team. Yes there were some hiccup and frustration, but It was a great overall team performance.

The drop catches are not their fault. They played their hearts out.
