I haven't seen the highlights yet but what's interesting to note is that according to cricinfo and Shakib al Hasan. Shahadats wickets were more down to poor shots from the batsman and not from good deliveries. So it just goes to show that we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves. We need to stay focused and get the last 2 wickets ASAP, because India will recuperate and have a plan for tomorrow, and with Tendulkar at the helm India could still add another 90 runs and take the score past 300 which would really take the gloss off our opening day performance.

Thanks for the nice gesture, Surfer.

Surfer bro, since u probably follow bangladesh cricket now and again, proven by your number of posts, how do u assess our batting and our team as a whole now. Do u think it has improved to a large extent, and in your eyes who would u want to be removed the earliest as possible when bangladesh are batting? (ie. bangladesh's most dangerous batsmen)
I was just wondering really, good to get some insight from our deer neighbours.

well played bangladesh. The spirit should be on alltime. Those days are gone! Even australia dares to tell bangladesh as an "ordinary".

I think Bangladeshi cricket has come a long way, but they are yet to learn the art of winning. What they still miss is that final push to win, they still panic at the sight of victory. The problem arises from the fact that they are happy winning sessions.
I would like to see the back of Sakib because I think he is the only batsman with the right temperament. And I think this guy will turn Bangladesh's fortunes around.

lol unfortunately surfer represents 1-2% indian population. Most of them does not know how to respect others. But thanks for the wish bro. don know whts gonna happen in the next 4 days. but i think Bangladesh really should win/drawn this test to teach them a true lesson. They said those same things to Mashrafee right before the BD vs IND match in the WC 2007. And you know the rest..
And not only india I think its time that all the major teams should learn to respect team Bangladesh.

HAHAHA. well there is something called the sample mean if you know a lil bit of statistics. govt of india did not count down every single indians either. they used sample mean to calculate the entire population. I live in Canada. And i hardly found a sober indian around my school or at the university. I have 2-3 indian friends only who has sort of like the similar non-aggressive and polite mentality as us the Bangladeshis.

Anyway, lets bask into the glory that we have achieved today . After all no 9 is battling against no 1 .

You actually think that BD can get a 300+ lead. I will be happy if they manage to get a 175 run lead. If BD wants to get a 300 run lead, they need to score around 550 in their first innings.

India only has one specialist spinner and thats Amit Mishra. They have part timers like Sewage, UV, and TEndu

don't be too sure. UV caused some problems during the ODI series, I wouldn't be surprise if he gives our batsman a hard time in the middle, we should not take any one lightly, some thing our opponent did and had to pay for it big time.

I do know my stats dear sir. the sample you speak of is not even close to being adequate. btw, govt of Ind does count all of those people, they don't use sample. if you knew statistics then you will understand that sample doesn't work unless the distribution is perfectly uniform.

The fact of the matter is the game is still wide open and we only won few sessions... Test cricket is more than that. 2nd Innings wont be as easy but it will be the 3rd day if not the 4th and the ball wont be spinning as it did the first day. It will be tricky for the bowlers to take the crucial wickets when the Indians know very well how the crowd will react back home if they lose to Bangladesh in Test. Yes, India will fight their lives to not be beaten by a Bangladeshi side just after a month being the top of test world. But cricket is a funny game... you dont always get what you want and you some times get what you didnt want. The stakes are higher for India to win than Bangladesh to lose... And there lies the importance of this match because India is certainly in a position where they can be beaten by the home side. BD team will have to put their 200% to do that and not drop any catches or give away their wickets as they have in the past...

BD has taken 10 Indian wickets in the first innings which is a fantastic improvement , they have to try and take the other 10 wickets to make it 20 wickets which I dont think they will do in India's second innings. I predict a score of over 400 runs for 5 wickets with a declaration. Because of bad weather, seems that the match will go into the fifth day. Everyone is predicting a draw, but cricket is a funny game. it changes so quickly. Who would have thought that Australia would have won the second test match.?i even told my brother to watch that evening to see pakistan beating Australia,
then Pakistan's collapse under pressure and the killing instincts of Australia.
