Hey thanks...

They can do much better with James - atleast the old James.. not sure about his voice now!

The song sounds odd at first but after awhile, it isn't that bad. Those short phrases sounds a bit odd though.....

sounds pretty much like a bangla song with better musical rendition ofcourse....

Here is a quiz: How many singers are really in this song?

there was another thread on this a long time ago.

The song is not that bad. I personally prefer the James songs without him screaming in the songs.

Anyways here is a review of the song by a popular indian site:

Bhatts have introduced many Pakistani singers to Bollywood but this time around it's the turn of a Bangladeshi singer to make a mark. James, an extremely popular singer in Bangladesh, makes his Bollywood debut with 'Bheegi Bheegi', a song written by Mayur, which is based on Gautam Chatterjee's 'Prithvi'. This is the same number that has the lyrics 'Na Jaane Koyi' that have been beamed in the theatrical promos so far. An excellently well written, composed and sung song that is bound to make you longing for more, 'Bheegi Bheegi' has a lethal combination of rhythm and melody that makes it a highly exciting piece of music. Expect the number to be a hot favorite in the campus and bonfire parties as it is certainly going to climb to the top bracket.

Not bad. James' electronic guitar touch is there. Does have a James song touch, I mean those chilla-chillis "Naaaa JAAAnne Kooi....NAaaa Jane Koiiii....HUmaari Aaadhuri Kahaaaaani" just like "dukhhhhhhhiiiniii o dukhiiiiniiii, dukho koroooo na".

His accent was not too bad except when he goes "sapno ka saya, palko mein aya, pal mein hasaya, pal me rulaye...phir bhi ye kaisi kami hai?". Hasaya and rulaya are the words where he put on bengali accent or else everything is pretty good.

Finally listened to it... He actually sounded quite good + the music and tune is pretty good.. the nice mellow guitar riffs and drumming not so common in hindi songs.. tho he doesn't sound anything like original, only faintly when he was singing "rootha rookha raab, chhota chhota saab, toota toota dil..." followed by "kaise ho jiina gawaraa.."

Anyway give him some credit guys.. I heard he literally dragged to India to sing this and you can't except the same James in hindi songs.. coz Bangla rulez

It was nice..even though i don't understand hindi that well but the tune and music composition are perfect..........it shows our singer has got talent but lack of proper technology we are not able to go far............
But i think james has done a great job, he has got his taaan there, his guitar which means he was given full freedom to be himself.............really appreciate it......

As long as he does not bastardize Robindronath and Nazrul songs, I don't mind even if he sings in Malayalam.

Whats the problem,bro?
Rabi and Nazrul made great lyrics and with the modern touch, there music comes to life.If they had electric appliences these days, they surely would have used these, you might have a bad taste for these remixes, but many love to hear them.

I agree with mon. The thing is that Tagore and Nazrul did not have electronic applience. Do you really believe those remix are good. After hearing the remix of Lata, i feel they are simply r**ing the artists involved with the song. The bangla remix are even worse. If you have creativity why don't you do something your own, why pollute the classics

These remixes are not causing any harm. The originals are always available, and people always have the option. (speaking in general) In most cases, originals tend to be better, so people are more likely to listen to the originals anyway. Remixes add variety, and in few cases might be better than the original.

Many generation of artists have wasted their talent by singing the same song in same tune over and over. Isn't it waste of creativity?

Chor!

Music of this Bheegi Bheegi song was clearly stolen from a Bangla song of Mohiner Ghora Guli band.

Here is the original bangla song:

I don't think James is to be blamed for that. If it weren't for stealing others' works, the likes of Anu Malik would be pitifully out of business.

May be he 'borrowed' the tune?... the original song sounds pretty old so I don't see much harm reviving it in bollywood!

Reviving is fine so long as credit is paid where it's due.

I'm not sure if anyone here has heard of Usha Uthup from Calcutta. She used a song originally sang and composed by A R Rahman for her Tribute to Calcutta song "Don't worry Calcutta". I remember watching the video for the first time and I liked the fact that she credited A R Rahman for the music.

How many of you have heard Alan Parson's Project - Eye in the Sky? There is a Bangla Band who used the exact same tune for one of their songs. Did they bother crediting the original author?

Music from Mahesh Butt films are simply superb as his introduction of sub-continent artistes into bollywood films have spiced up the flavor of all his songs..

James does a very good job....

well sung and would definitely top the charts...
