2007 WC FINALS should be our goal

If we want to prove anything 2007 it is! Goal should be to play final. How you practice for that? Batting coach is neccesary. Fielding practice (those dropped catches by Nafis is still a nightmare) a must i.e., top physical condition and mental alertness. Bowling improvements (for ODI). Devise new tricks for the recent ODI rules.

Well before World Cup Bangladesh should play atleast 20 to 30 ODIs to get all the players in good form.. and should also play against associates countries.. atleast 2 countries..Players should go to World Cup with lots of confidence.. thats y they should play a triseries against associate countries.. next year..
No point.. playing just 12 to 14 matches in a year..Its not doing any good..

Sorry for this interrupt but I am confused. I know West Indies is going to host for World Cup 2007 and all test countries and may be 6 associate countries will participate that tournament and I am pretty sure you are not talking about that tournament because you set a goal for final. But I don’t have any idea that there will be another Cricket World Cup in 2007. Who is going to host that World Cup? May be Bhutan, Nepal, China, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia? It won’t be so easy for Bangladesh to reach final even in that World CUP because did you forget Canada slap us last time. I think we should only participate in one World CUP, not the other one .

Talking about Nafis Iqbal's dropped catches - have you been reading the domestic cricket's match reports? Its like Ashraful is dropping catches every minute - even against teams like Barisal, Khulna or others.

I'm not counting or anything, but the number of times that our Javed Omar, Shahriar Nafees and other non-national cricketers getting lifes because of these dropped catches - its really pathetic! How would you expect any Bangladesh team to win matches if our players drop catches and give lives to all the batsman?

Anyway, back to the topic - I don't know about the Final, but I would definitely like to see to set our target to the 2nd round of the Cricket World Cup to be staged by West Indies during the year 2007. After last world cup's failure and disaster against Canada and Kenya - this 2007 World Cup SHOULD make us PROUD, OR ELSE!

Well I will be happy if we can win atleast two games there in WI. One will be obviously against the associate country and the other one will be against either india or srilanka. Lets save the final thought for 2011. For now, I will be happy if we start to win some meaningful games.
