Default Will you watch the Ashes?

I remeber after Bangladesh finished off Zimbabwe some or most of us were occupied with watching the Pak-India series. So now that the Tour of England is done will you watch the ashes. To me i won't watch it, it's second fiddle t India-Pak series and only if the series is decided by 5th Test it's not gonna be exciting and i'm sure the winner is already predetermied and Australia will win the Ashes.

If there is free video available on the net, and I have some time at hand, why not?

I said yes though I am not sure how at the moment. I will definitely follow it very closely. It's going to be competitive and there is an outside chance that England might regain the Ashes.

Yes, most definetley. Expect some good cricket in the next few weeks. Pity that Tests are not played in Headingley.
And England should win it!

I will give you a guess what my vote was.

I am looking forward to it, and whats even better is that its on Channel 4 with a good commentary team unlike Sky, and I can watch Channel 4 in bed because its broadcasted terrestrially.

The Channel 4 commentary team will be :

Mark Nicholas, Michael Atherton, Richie Benaud, Geoffrey Boycott, Michael Slater, Barry Richards.

Great commentary team that, nice mix of English and Australians, with one neutral.

to be honest, i wont find any enjoyment watching england and australia. it becomes much more exciting if a subcontintal side or even WI is involved. but when a white side plays another white side, i cant find any interest

What's "white side" got to do with anything? I detect a hint of racism...

This will probably be one of the best Ashes contests in 1 and a half decades. Finally the poms have got a decent team, and the Aussies will have to work for their money. I think this series will offer the highest quality cricket....

I will be watching with great interest.

this promises to be a mouth watering affair. finally all the ashes hype promises to live upto its glorious name and actually might produce an exciting series. which ever way the series swings, this ashes wil exhibit the two best sides in the world right now and some of the best cricketers in the world at present. only if i had enough dough i would not have missed out on any of the action...

feels like there's been a long lay-off going on... i mean, between the Natwest Series...and the Natwest Challenge...and then the Ashes... some people might just not stay excited enough to keep the spirit of cricket up till the Ashes finally starts.

Is it just me who's feeling like this ?

its nothing to do with racism. what i meant was that nearly all cricket wizards seem to be from subcontinent. spin wizard murali, sheer pace shoaib, batting genius sachin etc etc. even when WI ruled, it was richards, holding etc who was considered genius. do u find these crowd pullers in white countries?

If the had David Lloyds, David Gower and Michael Holding from sky that would be great

Actually, I am led to believe that Tony Grieg may be drafted into the commentary team instead of Barry Richards, who has not been commentating on the Channel 4 highlights for a while.

I am not sure who Tony Grieg supports, he is a former England captain but now lives in Australia and seems to love the Australia cricket team to bits. I expect him to be quite neutral.

Unfortunatly James, the commentators on Sky will not be commentating on the live broadcast, they will just be commentators on the Sky highlights.
