Do we need head coach? permanent coach?
According to FTP we have one or two series with big 8 in a year. For example this year we almost have no international slot.
So, what will staff do for this prolonged time. This is some kind of wastage of money.
We can hire some kind of part time staff before world cup or something like that until we get enough encounter with big 8.

You appear for exams only once or twice but then why go to school for the whole year ??
That is just waste of money and time.
You could go to school just before the exam and things will be fine.

Actually teach the boys a thing or two. Patience may be? help the grass at grassroot level as well. Talent evaluation. We desperately need some holes to fill.

I think our Akram Khan once took 6 wickets bowling against Japan in an ICC match.

When i saw the title i thought you were referring to the idea of having specialist coaches for batting, bowling, fielding-but no head coach.
Anyway the coach will be working with the team regardless of tours. He will also need to familiarize himself with players, formulate plans etc. Theres no crash course in cricket.

Why do we even need part time coaching staffs ?
I say, send our boys to a coaching/training academy of aus/sa/eng 1/2 months prior to any series and save time and money by not going through recruiting process of part time coaching staffs. Rest of the months players will be busy playing in domestic league/BPL/IPL anyway. So what's the point of having foreign coaching staffs in Bangladesh and paying them huge amount of money ? How's that ?

I think Robiul Islam was in the Australian Institute of Sports team. We should follow that initiative with other fringe players (e.g. Asif Ahmed, Monimul Haque, Arafat Sunny etc)

But i doubt that move will work. In the past we have sent some guys to Australia Centre of Excellence. We even sent a few bowlers to MRF Pace Academy. Maybe the guys learn a thing or two, then come back and forget about it. Which is why it is essential to have coaches who can work with our players on a long term basis-batting, bowling and fielding.

Test cricket is bit different from exam. You can pass exam., if you have good preparation but you cannot win a test match if you dont have skill, experience, match practices etc. Thats why we won only 3 test matches (among 73) during last 12 years. If you add total sum we spent for our coaching staff it will easily cross million dollars. In return we get only 3 win with comparatively weak opponents.
Now, from here to until 2020 we have only 42 test and if we spend almost same amount or more what will be our expected return. After every defeat we will blame lack of encounter with big team like Tamim did recently. Stuart Law also mentioned about this.
My point is if we only spent for coaching staff and famous head coach it will not give us expected result. Coaching staff can increase our players skill at certain level but after that to win the real match we need more encounter with big teams. So we should concentrate on this point also.
Otherwise after 8 years we have also the same result in test matches which are experiencing currently.

Then why do you think team like Australia, South Africa, India, Pakistan opt for well proven (local or foreign) full time coaching staffs ? They have at least 6-7 world class players, most of them are highly talented and skillful and can win matches single-handedly.
I agree coaching staff can increase skill at a certain level and players have to perform accordingly, but full time coaches job is to ensure players do remember and implement those skills properly each time. Moreover, in modern days, coach's job is not only to improve players skills, he has to find out right strategies/action plans based on opponent team's weaknesses. Now, if you want to rotate coaching staffs on part time basis how can you ensure to track down player's profile and team strategies/ plans and expect results ?
Sometimes, we have to look beyond 'short term result' and focus on development which can ensure long term benefits. And when our players are so vulnerable and lazy type, we just cant afford to leave them alone on their own. Students who are weak in the class, need more care and attention. Teachers cant ignore them thinking wasting their time and effort. Its a wrong approach.

The concept is not alien as this was an on air debate between Rameez and the other Pakistani commentator (forgot who it was) during the Bangladesh Test match. It was a conversation regarding the role of Mohsin with the other commentator stating that Misbah is actually coaching. This all was said without diminishing the role of Mohsin, but that the brunt of the responsibility was carried by Misbah.

to add to that Warne & Ganguly advocated for this idea at some points in their careers.
