Should go! Knows nothing about the wicket, knows nothing about what to do when you win toss. In both the match vs Pakistan and Sri Lanka wrong choice to bat first! Have they suddenly forgotten that its easy to chase at Dhaka? Complete failure on his side!

1. SJ is not giving right instructions to the captain and helping him out.

or altermnatively

2. As captain already admitted that they are slow learners, may be the captain is ignoring coaches instuctions.

Which one is true? We need James Bond to find out the truth.

He was so lucky to get the job at the first place. There are many better coach's around that are tough and strict plus they have recognised reputation. For some reason we tend to understand more from a Pakistani coach e.g. Saqlain.

Do you remember BD's ex national coach from Pakistan Mohsin Kamal? He basically started to ruin BD cricket. Under him BD even lost to Canada.

Terrible coach. Terrible decision to appoint Mohsin Kamal at that time. Very little clue on what he was doing, had this gap or distance with the players. Brought in a batting coach Ali Zia, and then had a clash with him also. But doesnt mean all Pakistani coaches are bad. And i cant say Saqlain had a lot of success either. If Sohag Gazi is considered a success, one must judge his performance in recent matches.

Its debatable, but our improvement in the last couple of years particularly in the batting department could be because of the work done by Jamie Siddons. He was a solid coach who knew his job, was strict/stern, and also involved in the tactical aspects.

It ll be interesting to see what BCB does. I wont be surprised at all if they decide to persist with SJ. But if Bangladesh fails to qualify past round 1 against Afghanistan etc, then it might be real trouble.

Re-visited.

He and the rest of the staff needs to go irrespective of the outcomes in the Super 10. Defeat to Afghanistan and Hong Kong in a month is goddamn pathetic.

BCB should seriously search for a Head coach for Bangladesh cricket team. Under Shane Jurgensen they can’t improve. We need a very good and tough coach to improve team performance. They can think about Dev Whatmore once again with other good coaches. He just completed his contact with Pakistan. BCB can keep SJ until finalize anybody.

Ganguly is a strategy person with a great personality. pLUS, his leadership skill is second to know. I think he would be way better than our current coach.

I thought BC was unequivocal on not having a sub-continental coach.

Have to agree, Ganguly would have been perfect but not world class. However, much better than SJ.

Gotta go buddy your strageties plans dont seem to be any there. When nasir was going out to bat against Hk, could you have not send him out giving him a right talking and telling him just to play safely bat out the overs. We would have won the match if we batted out the overs. Come on, you gotta back yourself defending 130 against associates.

Anyway, its not just that. The way razzak bowld wide and short, and others bowled poor the HK opener slogged few out and got them to a good start. It was only shakib who brought it down and made it closer than it might have been. Couldnt the manger be more active during some situations of the game? In football mangers are relentless but in cricket they all sit back like kings and nawabs. Cant the coach be more talking to players, reminding them the roles? Cant they wave at the batsmen and say take it easy dont slogg we have no wickets left and try playing out the overs?

I just get cricket coaches at times, too laid back; letting the game go how the player wants it. Surely its time cricket embraced some football coaches way of managing from the side lines!!

^^nicely put and exactly my view here. the world class coaches do their homework really well, prepare game plans, make strategy and key decisions ahead of the match based on opposition strength, have discussion session with captain and key players. During the match situation sends instructions and messages based on game situation. But Shane has very little experience in the bigger aspect. He hardly had any accomplishments both as a player and as a coach. He never even led a team. He was a bowling coach for newzealand but got fired for poor performance. His shortcomings in the bigger stage is way too obvious. He does not know subcontinent pitches, he does not know our cricket and infrastructure much, he hardly saw our domestic cricket. But most importantly he does not have any experience at this level and as it stands he won't learn from mistakes and he really don't have anything to offer for this team, other than being a supporter of the captain and key players to keep his job. He knows his shortcomings and that's why he just listens to the captain and BCB president. The captain graciously taking advantage of him and keeps his fav players in the team. We had the best set of coaches during mustafa kamal who understands cricket and if he was still here we would not have the miserable situation we are at right now. Current success whatever maybe has lot to do with Siddons.
