Default team selection

who knows?

Probably because they wanted these guys to get a game in. And they were feeling bad for ashraful because he can't go and party in SA. And since they don't have any batsmen on the team, they went ahead and put NZ in to bat first.

there's usually no logic to it - Ashraful is dropped from the SA team but of course he needs to play the match today. if he does real well, he may be recalled perhaps.

Default Ooops

The bowling antics of Talha: (Poor guy needs to work on his eye/hand combination. You see where you need to send the ball and then you send the ball there)

1.6 Talha Jubair to Astle, wide: no run, follows it up with a shocker,
digging it in shorter and it swings a mile away down the leg side,
keeper Mashud is the busiest in the field so far, another big dive
to save further embarrassment
1.5 Talha Jubair to Astle, no run, good fullish ball, much straighter
just outside off stump, nips through Astle's defences as he pushes
forward, appeal for lbw but did strike just outside the line of
off stump

Default MANJUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

2.3 Manjural Islam to Astle, OUT: and Astle fails again, can't shake
off the run of bad form, half volley outside off stump, smacks it
hard but Alok Kapali falls to his right at point to take a fine
catch and Bangladesh get a handy early breakthrough

New Zealand 11/1, Partnership of 11
NJ Astle c Alok Kapali b Manjural Islam 5 (10b 1x4 0x6)
SP Fleming 0* (6b) Manjural Islam 1.3-0-3-1 (2w 1nb)

Mathew Sinclair the new batsman

Default LOT of movement

Look at this one, even thought it was adjudged wide, the movement is clearly there and Manju and Talha needs to use this advantage as much as they can, Just milk it.

2.6 Manjural Islam to Sinclair, wide: no run, good ball! good length
ball that moves appreciably away from Sinclair outside off stump,
extracted some extra zip from the track there, but umpire de Silva
calls wide! rough call

Default 8 wides

8 wides in the first three overs. NZ might as well just guard the wickets .....

Default First DROP

Drop followed by a WIDE. We are in a giving mood today, aren't we ?

3.2 Talha Jubair to Fleming, wide: no run, poor follow-up, wide well
wide the leg side, swinging away through to Mashud who does glove
this one cleanly
3.1 Talha Jubair to Fleming, FOUR, dropped! a big chance goes begging,
and the debutant could've had a big scalp in just his second over
of ODI cricket, but his captain and keeper let him down, lifting
ball just outside off stump, has Fleming probing at it inside out,
rises high and
Mashud grasps at it high to his left, but flicks over his gloves to
the boundary

Default Another Wide

I may not have played too much cricket 'professional' but from my Para experience, I find it hard that you can bowl this many WIDES in an ODI. 9 wides in 4 overs, way to go. Emnitey parina, tar upor abar ei shob .......

Default I thought Talha was better than Taposh

5.1 Talha Jubair to Sinclair, wide: no run, full and swinging away down
the leg side, Sinclair tries to catch up with it but misses to the
keeper, nevertheless they get a run anyway - the 10th wide of this
fledgeling innings, and the debutant's 7th in just 2 overs

5.1 Talha Jubair to Sinclair, FOUR, oh dear, Talha gets it dead
straight this time, but overpitches and Sinclair takes him to the
cleaners with a crisp straight drive back past the bowler, mid on
and mid off are bisected and chase in vain
5.1 Talha Jubair to Sinclair, wide: no run, make that 11 and 8, full
and swinging away further, very wide outside off stump, left well
alone to the keeper, who takes in front of first slip, then looks
up to umpire Shepherd in fear - and yes, it is a wide, cap'n

Default tapash vs khaled mahmud

they should have have 3 pacers and included tapash, instead of that silly "all rounder" khaled mahmud who is going to get smacked around even more than these two. although we should have less wides thankfully. by then the game will be over

Default Shujon (Khaled Mahmud)

Thank god Shujon has very little reach (shorty), otherwise wides would score the highest for NZ at this rate.

Even if you are nervous, I think 2 overs is enough to get over it or get over your dream of becoming a prefessional player 9i do however urge the kid to keep on trying, we need some quality bowlers and he might have the goods even if he doesn't know it)

Default Rafiq

Let 'em yell. I don't mind people yelling mostly because they yell but NEVER ever do anything useful. So, those folks are pretty much useless to you and me and the rest of the world.

THANK YOU for taking the initiative to do something about it instead of whining like the person you mentioned.

Default How ?

The team has four spinners, let's see what they have got (kidding).
Keep up the line and lenght, make sure you angle it right to get the maximum out of the pitch. If NZ was bowling, BD would have been all out by now. *wink*
