Default Congratulations Sri Lanka

Fantastic performance throughout the entire tournament. They haven't lost a game in Bangladesh soil in any format since their arrival for the bilateral series. What a team! Well done guys.

Kudos to Srilanka on winning the Asia Cup as an unbeaten Champions. They deserved it more than anyone else. They can be equally ruthless in T20 also.

Same thing I was going to say. I've already given them congratulations in the Asia Cup thread in international section. Is this rubbing salt to the wounds of the Tigers?

It fine I guess. Sangakkara didn't get to score another ton but they still won. That's what you call team performance.

Amazing performance since they arrived in BD, team performance and overall everything with SL team was excellent. Senior players were responsible and junior players also contributed. Great discipline and sign of a really good team.

Fine team led by a handsome young captain who not only leads from the front, but also learns fast from each game he plays. Sri Lanka's future looks very bright indeed. The retirement of KS and MJ won't be easy to handle but they'll pull through and remain a formidable side in the subcontinent. Congratulations to our brothers and sisters from the Emerald Isles.

Well played Sri Lanka. I wanted the team to win rather than Pkaistan.

Congrats Srilanka. No one deserves the trophy more than the undefeated champion.

If anyone can punch a hole against teams like South Africa and Australia, from the South Asian continent, it has to be Sri Lanka. They should be proud lions, fierce, unforgiving, and hungry for victory. Quite the opposite for our tigers, or more proper, should be called baby tigers, or rather, cubs.

Kittens, they are (our tigers) compared to the lankan lion, who actually are proving to be a handful to everyone else. Congratulations to them.

Limited resources, limited player pool yet amazing how they have been able to edge their more illustrious neighbours. Their success and development is all to do with strategy and correct thinking-not talent, or any other reason.

One thing also we must pick up from them is the importance of having the right person running the show, and actually listen to what he has to say and support as much as possible. From 1996, Sri Lanka has never compromised on the quality of head coach. From Whatmore to Dyson to Tom Moody to Trevor Bayliss. Their sacking of Geoff Marsh was heavily criticised, but at the end of the day Graham Fords stint has changed a lot of things. Now Paul Farbrace has taken over with the support of a strong back room with Vaas, Atapattu, Kalpage and Muralitharan.

Hard to imagine how BCB has the confidence in entrusting the cricket development responsibility to young coaches like Shane Jurgensen and Corey Richards.

I'm late on this but congrats to the Lankans. You have to commend the fact that they consistently produce quality teams without having the massive populations such as India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

I have to admit, I thought that once Sanga, Mahela and Dilshan retire, their quality as a team would suffer greatly but now I believe with the likes of Matthews, Chandimal, Thisara, and Thiramanne, they will continue to be a solid team

Fine group of winners aptly representing a country of stunning beauty and generosity. As a Bangladeshi, I feel proud to be historically connected to the Sinhalese people.
