Default Dhoni complain about pitches in Mirpur

Dhoni's complains are in the same line I was talking about a while. The pitches are bowler friendly and not a good set up for upcoming World T-20 where most of the pitches would be ideal for batting.

Asia Cup cricket is not World Cup cricket... cricket is not a one dimensional game...gotta have the frame of mind to play cricket in any condition...be it on the Sandy shores of the Mumbai Beaches, the altitude of Johannesburg, or on the surface of the moon.

You change ur game to adapt to the conditions. Period.

I loved the new pitch. Batting friendly pitches are waste of time. Sporty pitches make the game exciting. We should consistently make these type of pitches.

Dhong is just whining.

I understand where Dhoni is coming from and I am also not pleased with the pitch. I also wanted a pitch like Dharmashala so we can have some practice. But its a different competition. Its not a warm up for the WC on paper. So dhoni cant complain about this

Who is Dhoni? And why is he complaining about the pitches in Mirpur?

I love this pitch, it expose real batlte between batting and bowling with proper technique, patience and re-assessment of game plan in the middle. Not just muscle around the balls for 4s and 6s on a flat deck. People wants to see big hitting is a simplified myth, rather they love to see the battle well faught with proper skill and technique. Like any other sports fan, they love that sports because of the beauty of technique and greatness of executing on the field.

Having said that, its absolutely ok to have different kind of pitches since cricket have to be played in different condition, and in Bangladesh should have its own type of pitch wihch offer battle of different kind [like grand slam tennis].

Or, I would suggest Dhoni to ask for change the rule of cricket for "exitement" such as ... [joke]

1. Only full toss to be bowled
2. A bowling machine to be used
3. A readymate pitch to be carried with their batting kits.
4. Swing and spin to be used once in an over.
5. ...

Pitch needs to have some sort of balance, Mirpur pitch looks unsettled and I think its new. Cricket is not just about bowling, if you think 83~120 is par for a pitch then that is not a fair ground.

Anyway I love the way the pitch-fixing is backfiring and Indian team is winning even on the pacy, seaming and swinging conditions.

All other captains are saying 140 to 160 would make good contest on these pitch, thats not bad. PAk or BD getting out for 83-120 does not represent the scoring standard either. Yes, these are new pitch and I like the way these are providing different type of contest among the teams, unlike just power hitting on a flat deck.

Captain Dhoni is looking at this tournament as a practice option before WC. He has no point to whine but after this I won't be surprised if all of grass is gone. That's the reality.

This tournament is not and shouldnt be seen as a practice for WC. It is a 30 years old tournament. It has it's own history, identity and significance.

Problem is not the pitches. Yes there are movements early on and little extra bounce but they have true bounce. Which make them sporting wickets not mine fields as they are made out to be. Problem is modern day batsmen are used to flat decks that little hint of swing and they are all at sea.

If you analyze Rohit,Kohli or even Mithun's innings you will see if the batsman get settled in shots playing gets so easy.

These pitches have given the tournament a different flavour and I am loving it. Diversity is what makes cricket interesting. And you will always find some people who are not happy regardless the nature of the pitch.

Man some these Ind players are losing my respect. Once used to be big fan of.

Its ok, for them to create rank turners to combat SA with ease? But complain if the wicket is juicy elswhere everyone is batting on the same wicket too not just Ind!

Lolololol. Admittedly their bowlers have performed exceedingly well on these pitches.

Poor pitch and even worse umpiring. Not sure why cant they have ICC umpires in Asia cup. Clearly the men in the middle are incapable. Yesterday Virat did MC BC twice to the umpires Overall a very mediocre Asia cup so far.

Hopefully no more Asia cup in BD for a long time. They already hosted thrice in a row. Time for some other countries.

Totally agree but the par score was 130 in that pitch. Pak Batting approach was terrible. They were targeting 250. Thus ending up with 83.

As for India losing wickets, it was Amir special.

I saw the interview. It was a backhand slap. Stupid for him to comment. You play according to the condition. If on a 130 pitch a team gets bowled out in 83 that is not the pitches fault.

IMHO it's good for cricket to have sporting green wickets along with batting wickets in a T-20 tournament. Bowlers need something in this version of the game.. With all pure batting wickets, India a country of billion + people is yet to find a world class first bowler.

Instead of complaining about pitches in Dhaka, Dhoni should ask BCCI to have more sporting/ green pitches in India to get some quality pacers..
