Default Test Specialists

I know we all got the WC fever. But, despite our progress in the ODI arena, we are still far behind the other 8 Test playing countries in the longer version of the game. We have the Test series against NZ coming in May, where we have lot to prove. The away series against Zimbabwe should be also challenging. Keeping that in mind, BCB coaches should use the time between now and then to prepare prospective Test specialists that are currently not in the ODI team, but may make a big difference for the Test team.

Shahadat Hossain: According to Ian Pont, he is still the fastest among Bangladeshi pacers. It's also encouraging to hear Shahadat has tightened up his L&L. I sincerely hope to see a new and improved Shahadat leading our pace attack in the NZ series.

Robiul Islam: It's frustrating to see how he drifted away after the tour of England. In away tours, we need a fourth pacer in the squad after Rajib, Rubel, and Shafi, and I still think Shiplu has high potential to be that option.

Sajidul Islam: Another big disappointment, I hoped so badly that he would add the so needed left armer option in our pace attack. I am still hoping to see him return.

Elias Sunny/Saqlain Sajib: Shuvo may very well become the second spinner in the Test team, but I don't think it will hurt to consider other options also. Both Sunny and Saqlain are dominating domestic leagues for past few seasons and deserved to be considered for higher honors.

Jahurul Islam: I believe he is a versatile enough batsman to be considered for all the specialist batsmen positions (1-6) in the Test team.

Shamsur Rahman: He is in the fringe for the national team for a long time, should be be an option to consider for the middle order (4-6).

Nurul Hasan: Sohan is still very young, but he so far has been hailed as the best keeper prospect. IMO, BCB will do better if they give this lanky keeper special attention.

^^ Don't remember if they have been reported for chucking. But then again even Shakib was reported (after the 2006 U/19 WC) and had to tweak his action a little. If they were habitual chuckers, BCB should have stopped them from bowling (like how they handled Nadif).

Test cricket aint easy to play u need real cricket skills to play test matches its difficult to go out there and bat through the whole day we lack stamina and temperament for test matches we loose 3-4 test matches a year by innings defeat which is a shame for a test playing country . We need to develop skills at ground level that is school level cricket NIRMAN is just tournament not skill development , al the player sliek jaques kallis , hashim amla developed their skill in school cricket coaching not in national side. Look at indias Ranji trophy i bet those teams are way stronger and play more competitive first class cricket than otu first class setup. we can arrange first class matches against teams form india , Pakistan, sri lanka to develop skills at top level.
