Our next T20 match is on next year and next ODI is in Sep/Oct. I am sure Mithun will be forgotten by our selectors by then and we fans will always be wondering 'why selectors picked Mithun at the first place and why did selectors now drop him'. Mithun name will always be an enigma !

^what? Not ODI till september? We need to invite a few teams in betwee

Heard that Lanka may play a short series with us in April, i think we need this series more than SL need it. Would love to see a series in Lanka. 3 ODIs, 2 T20, all will be finished within 2 weeks and then everyone can enjoy the IPL

I think he deserve to play another 5 years of InT cricket. He might play a decent knock if given another 5 years

Haturi's decision to Pick Mithun and play him in each and every game baffles me so much. How could he get this wrong?

11 from 17. Another poor knock

Why do we keep picking him when we have nurul?

I mean seriously - he has no sense of timing, can't connect on most of his hoicks. One of Hathuri's misses.

Even Anamul is better than this ram chagol and that's saying something selectors need a kick up the backside for such outlandish selections especially faruk he needs a slap to the face.

Don't want to ever see this hapless batsman again. He looks like a tail ender!

Mithun was picked because we had no good option for #7, and he did very well in the warm-ups before Asia Cup.

Then, with Soumya still doing poorly in T20s and Tamim on leave and then getting sick, he also got a shot as an opener.

It was a hit or miss. Turned out to be a miss this time. Lately, it's been a hit with Hathuru and the selectors more often than not (Mustafiz, Soumya, Sabbir...). One or two misses doesn't mean they're doing a poor job. Overall, they've done well. There have been some great finds.

It was a bad decision to not have Anamul in the squad though. He at least has a good T20 average. Imrul Kayes was always horrible in T20s. Anamul should have opened a few of these matches in AC and WC.

Mithun is so crap, what's even more frustrating is he scored and did more than Sarkar and Rahim so he never got dropped

looks very clueless, doesnt have technique, not strong enough for a pinch hitter...... how he gets ahead of players like Nafees, Liton, Anamul in this format is beyond me. Even Imrul is wayy better then him. I defended him because I think he was unfairly put into 2 very difficult tournaments without experience. But after watching him the whole time, I think he doesnt even have a decent technique.

I think this guy will get another 2/3 chances. I have seen a talk show in ATN news 2/3 days ago where chief selector Faruk said this guy is a good batsman, he mentioned Mithun's 23 against India in Dhaka in a very difficult pitch and seems to me selectors want to give him some more time.

Not sure what you mean by better. Mithun could have done more damage to the team by simply staying longer and not scoring runs at better RR.

The same is true for Anamul and Nafees. Sure they most likely would stay longer than what Mithun did, but it may have hurt the team as both are slow poke for T20 format.

And what makes you think Mithun is not a slow poke? His SR suggests everything.

Please re-read my message again. Mithun is indeed a slow poke. That's why I said, if he would stay longer, he could have done more damage to the score.

In t20 standard all three are slow poke, while Mithun so far failed to stay longer, anamul already have a track record he can stay longer. However his issues is SR...if he stays longer the less total run we would get.
