Despite what I wrote earlier about Qatar not deserving the tournament on merit, their stadiums do look awesome. I hope I can make it to Qatar '22.

Money talks !!
Countries like UK or US already has their infrastructure in place.
Works needed to be done, but that would be nothing compared to the gigantic work that would be done for Qatar '22.
Billions of dollars going to be poured into this eye candy stadiums and guess who's gonna get all these contracts for construction and development ??
Its those European and American companies who's going to get the lion's share of that mega spending bonanza. They are better off having the WC in Qatar than in their own countries.
Personally, I'd have been more happier if the games were awarded to the whole of Middle Eastern Kingdoms rather than just one country. Instead of feeling claustrophobic, the fans could have moved around Doha, Dubai, Kuwait, Sharjah and those other oil-blessed Bedouin countries.
For a country of 1.5 million people, the amount of money that would be spend to build these eye candy stadiums, is just travesty. Its blasphemous.
Its ridiculous. Its just a waste.
What would they do once the world cup is over ?
It is He who Giveth, it is He who taketh all away.

Would have been nice had America won. Imagine going to watch world cup games every weekend plus on certain weekdays, for an entire month.

What will Qatar do with the stadia after the World Cup is over ? It is not our business and they are filthy rich, but really it should have gone to some country with a better footballing tradition.

its true that to construct such stadiums qatar will have to make contracts with EU or US or may be chinese and japanese contractors. and they will get huge money.
anyway BD can also contribute BY EXPORTING MANPOWER. i hope adam-bapari's are concerned and alert on this issue

The have promised modular construction and that after the WC, these stadiums will be disassembled and reassembled in countries that cannot afford such stadiums at Qatar's cost.

Thanks. On second thoughts, it is such an obvious problem that Qatar may not have won without a plan like that.

In some parts of the world, a promise means nothing.
Already, officials are saying the cup should be moved to January as "promises" to "cool stadia" were made just to win the bid.
