Default What went wrong in Duleep Trophy?

So far Duleep Trophy has been a Disaster for BCB XI. Just wondering what went wrong! I thought of all the possibe reasons (including bad luck), but can't figure out for the failure as bad as this.

When I thought touring India would be a great idea (and it is, even if they lose badly), I assumed that the first-string team would be going.

The teams thats playing Central seems to be a mix of first-string, second string and third string players.

First-class games over four days are never a waste for good players, but I think sending so many marginal players to play pretty good Indian regional sides was a mistake.

The results are an accurate reflection gulf between a decent first class team and a barely first class team.

This is what happens if you play bad teams like Zimbabwe!!!!! Our batsmen were only kidding themselves in the Zim series back home.

They just over estimate themselves.

I guess every thing went wrong. From vegeterian food; to unfriendly crowd; to non-cooperation from pitch, umpire and opponent players; ... you just name it.

They should never, ever go there again...

ICC should start the "two tire" system to save cricket from us.

So are we in the front tire or rear tire?

I prefer four-tire system. Its more stable. Its like car vs motorcycle.

U missed a few good reasons. Selectors underestimated the opponents.. thats true. But These are probably even stronger reasons:

Injury plus real bad form/underperformance of some depended players(Ash, Aftab etc.)

it;s a known fact that our players, somewhat like us in general, can't handle a string of good results. it gets to their heads. so even with marginal players, we still had a few good ones in there who should have held things up. eg there is no reason to lose this current match but we will. the team just thought the national team beat india in a ODI, so they should beat regional teams in a first class match. apples and oranges. doesn't compute.
