Frabrace turns down BCB
http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/...-coaching-role
Essentially Paul F - the England #2 has turned down BCB. I suspect it's because he used our offer to get ECB to agree to make him the LOI coach for England. But also, if I was a top line coach and saw that our President is in the habit of lecturing players after match, I'd have pause.

I bet you there's a reputation of BCB interference or general malaise when it comes to following through with coach's specific plans (Pont said something to that effect) which is hindering coaches.
At this rate we will have no coach going into the World Cup. Might be a good idea to just hire Salahuddin or Wahidul Ghani (can't' remember if he's the mentor for all our players). Will help develop our local coaches.

But Farbrace would have been great with the WC coming up in England.

Paul Farbrace was highly regarded in Sri Lanka, when he took over after Trevor Bayliss.
Not the taskmaster we were expecting, but a very good motivator and organizer.
I think he might not come because Trevor Bayliss is supposed to quit after WC, ideal opportunity for him to take over.

If you are most likely to get an opportunity to coach your own country’s national team, every other job can be turned down pretty easily.
Just ask our former coach.

Salahuddin might be a good coach but the problem is the BCB directors will stomp all over anybody local. At least with a high profile foreign coach they will hesitate but i cant see that happening with a local coach.

Why would anyone with options want to work for BCB?

BCB pays well and should be a good launch pad for assistant coaches

Chinaman Papon, just cannot help getting involved into everything. Does this gut have a proper job? Aways at maches, even against PNG he will be at the stadium, or touring there. Guy loves the free time. Do some proper planning for the WC 2023. Yes there’s 2019, but 2023 where BD should be among some of the fav, being held in Asia.

True. I suspect thats why no one is willing to coach BD anymore.
