Default **Mahmudullah T20 Captain**

He must be the favourite. Has all the credentials to be the Next T20 captain. I will be shocked if Tamim or Shakib is made our next captain. Mahmudullah is a genuine T20 player and proven his captaincy. Time to let him captain our T20 team.

Mahmudullah is the perfect choice for T20 only, as now he can only focus in this format only and everyone is happy.

5 star thread.

The best T20 player we produced. Proven captain, quality batsman and a smart bowler. What else can we ask for.

I think your thread opening priviledges need to be revoked for a month for posting such utter tosh!

He stays in T20 = he will stay in the team = he will keep coming back to play in other formats. We don't want him at all.

Sadly it wont be him but if there is one player that beat Mash's captaincy in this format, its Mahmudullah Riyad. Best T20 player right now and a proven captain in this format. I guess it might be Tamim

if these officials had to pick a captain.. this is how it would look like

Akram: Tamim (bhatija any day)
Haturi: Soumya (its not a love story, its a saga)
Nannu: Shuvagata Hom (because he played well in BCL)
Walsh: Rabbi (because the lad has potential)
Sujon: Shakib (because he likes to kiss ***)
Papon: (wont pick anyone but whoever is picked, if they perform, he will claim the responsibility of it)

Riyad might be a good choice but most likely it will be Shakib.

It doesn't matter who is captain in this format when we pick the wrong players

Is Riyad's spot cemented in T20 team? It will be Tamim who will replace Mash

Shakib wont be a bad skipper this time around because he will have that competition with Mushy and Mash to show better growth. But again, giving the captaincy to Riyad wouldve been the right approach. Riyad has proven to be a great T20 player in the last 2 years. He is also a better leader then Shakib and on a domestic level has a better record too as a skipper. O well........... I guess less pressure for RIyad

Just curious what are riyad's t20I stats over the last couple of years? His overall record is very poor, tbh shocked how bad it is since I thought he was pretty decent in this format.

Riyad in 2016

16 matches, 14 innings, 275 runs, Avg: 30.55, SR: 139.59

BPL:

14 matches, 14 innings, 396 runs, Avg: 33.00, SR: 118.20

His SR in international cricket is the highest in the team while scoring the 3rd highest runs (of course batted less innings)

In BPL, of course he was the player of the tournament.

This year so far he is the leading run scorer with 120 runs in 4 games. Averaging 30 and SR of 117.64

He deserves to be captain in this format..make him captain and tell him to concentrate on T20 only.

with his focus set on T20 and nothing else to think about we can expect good things from Riyad the Captain and T20 player

Love him or hate him, its 99.9% certain he will NOT be the captain of T20.

Most likely it will be Sakib. That is the rumor.

From now on Riyad need to fight for each and every game for his "chance to play" for next game. Rahim is no longer in a position to influence. Mashrafee will be gone. Tamim and Sakib doesn't care much. And his career stat is ok, but nothing spectacular.

When mash retires, he will be the oldest in the team.

Mullah seems to be the best option for him and for the team given last BPL captaincy, but Shakib deservs nonetheless. I am ok with either one of them.

He has done quite a bit of damage to his chances with his poor form.

Imo Riyad will need to fight for a place in the side. Captaincy is a distant story.

Exactly.

Even though I think he would be a decent captain, but at this point it is non-relevant as currently he is fighting for a slot in the team.

BDFlag T20 Captain

Considering all other options, he seems a better choice for now. But I fear that a captain's spot would be fixed and so will be Mullah.

I don't want any senior player's spot fixed in T20 format. It's about clean hitting, power hitting, defensive bowling and sharp fielding.

He can't lift the team when they will be down. The team can't look up to him. His body language is not encouraging.

I don't think he will get the captaincy. He does a great job for his franchise and in this format but I have a feeling that Shakib will take over and will also take over when mash calls it a day in ODI.

57 T20 games, 20.15 Average, 115 SR, rarely used part time bowler with Econ 7.18, lower order batsman, age showing in his fielding. He is now just a filler at this point, waiting to be replaced.

He has the second highest average (30) in T20I after Sabbir (31) since 2014. Mahmudullah has a batting strike rate of 131 in the last three years, the highest amongst all BD batsman. Shakib batting average in last three years is 24 and his batting strike rate is 110, his slogging not working. You want a under performer to be captain?
