Default New team for test???

The selectors are saying that they gonna announce a new team for the test - it will take 3/4 days. Looks like they might consider off-spinners - Moni/Sumit and will include Masri, drop Mashud and who knows many be more surprises.......

I don't think the selector will stick to dropping pilot.

Droppin Masud was meant for many things:

1) First of all to try Selim in an ODI
2) Warning for Masud to change his attitudes
3) Make Masud work for his position
4) Give some hope to Selim to continue and try even more harder to get a place in the national team
5) Test to see how our team goes on without Masud

All these things had a negative result. So, don't think dat Masud will miss the test.

But today's newspaper reports suggest otherwise.

I thought that choosing Selim would be just a one match phenomena too.

On the other hand, if I look at it closely, I see it that choosing Pilot or Selim doesn't make too much difference, as playing Pilot would not mean that we can draw a test match, or even win a test. Because the best that Pilot can do is hang around for more than a few hundred balls at best and score 20 to 30 odd runs.

In short, since he could not do it in so many test matches that he has played, so what can he do except to save Bangladesh's pride of playing out only 3 to 4 days?

Actually in Bangladesh cricket, since we don't have match winners or top quality players much who can change a game on his own yet so in terms of test cricket, I don't see how only dropping or choosing a player would do any difference.

I don't understand the logic of the last post at all! No one is saying bangladesh will beat south africa, or take the game to 5 days or even 4. Even if the result seems inevitable, you field your best side and fight hard.

Everyone also agrees that constant player changes is not good for the team either. But your post implies that since we will probably not win, it doesn't matter who plays or how many changes there are. Since we don't have players who "can change the gamne on their own" we should not pick the best eleven? Nothing could be further from the truth.
