Bold Prediction:
One BD batsman will cross 600 international runs (all forms ODI, test and 20/20) in 2007.
One BD bowler will cross 30 wickets (all forms ODI, test and 20/20) in 2007.

Not so Bold Prediction:
JO will be back in the international fold.

Bold: since they are bold so lets make them truly bold
1. Bd will reach WC 07 semifinal, they will beat india, srilanka, england and pakistan along the way.
2. Bd will use Junaid in the WC and Tamim after the WC(in place of hablu). Their showing in the one dayers in powerplay will surprise all and break a few bowlers heart.
3. Mash will show potential of a great all rounder
4. Ashraful will finally realize value of middling the ball and spending time in the wicket. Soon enough he will score a test 200+
5.Aftab will make the world record quickest 50

Not so bold: lets be realistic
1. Bd will get out in 1st round of the WC as expected
2. selectors over reliance on tortoise players will backfire. Bd will soon find out playing against zimbo and playing against top teams is a different thing altogether.
3. hablu will not retire neither will pilot. on the other hand rafiq may retire gracefully
4. worst of all, JO will return in both forms of int. cricket and will force us to write many more pleading threads until he is kicked out again.

This prediction must span till Jan 2010. Thats when we face NZ in ODIs. Unless by chance we get to second round or in the semis/finals in the WC 2007 or ICC Champions trophy (in two years) and face them. I would prefer in the finals of the WC 2007.

Bold Predicted Fears:

1.Bashar will continue to be the captain of Bangladesh
2. At some point Gullu will be back in the team
3. Selectors will again twick with Ash's position. However Ash will somehow survive whole year by scoring two 50+ great innings
4. Even perfoming better than Ash, Aftab will be the first to be dropped for irresponsible batting.
5. The relation between Pilot and the rest of the team will be worsened. Pilot's batting will be non-existent.
6. The best case scenario for Bangladesh is: they will draw the series against ZIM
7. They will lose at least one game in warm up matches against Canada/Bermuda
8. BD will just win one game in WC2007.
9. Rafique's contribution to the team will reduced. He will no longer be a dominant player in the team.
10. SN will go one step backward in 2007.

Now comes the bold prediction:
-Razzak is the next superstar of Bangladesh.
-Shahadat becomes the main strike bowler for Bangladesh surpassing Mashrafee.
-Mashrafee becomes our first true allrounder.
Except for the double ton for Sn it pretty much sums up my predictions. If anyone scores a double ton for Bangladesh it will be Ashraful. In the current team I dont see anyone else scoring a double against a test team barring Zim( coz against them anyone is a candidate for scoring a double).

As far I know, pre-world cup practice matches against NZ and Scotland (on 6th and 8th March) won't be considered as official ODIs. But, yeah, it will be nice to win both of those matches regardless of their status.

Reasonable prediction
1 Mehrab will not hold the opening slot for too long. Junaid might be the next partner for SN.
2 Pilot will be dropped and never return
3 Shahriar nafees might not be able to repeat the same level of success
4 Aftab will be the main stay of BD batting line up in ODI's
5 Ashraful will get his average a little higher
6 Habibul will continue another year for sure
7 Cant imagine bangladesh test team without rafique, but this might be his last year. Razzaq will try to fill his shoes and may even suceed given some time.

1) BD will achieve their 2nd test victory.
2) Ashraful will marry, let alone the possiblity of being consistant.
3) Tamim Iqbal will be the man of the series of 20-20 WC.
4) Mashrafe will get the chance of playing county.
5)We'll follow the WC with great hope and ........ WHO KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN?

I see lots of people predicting a second test victory.

I have a question: how many tests will BD play in 2007?
I remember when the ICC released their future tour schedule, BD had a big break scheduled.

And on the off chance that Zimbabwe comes back to tests and BD plays a number of tests with them, I'll make the super bold prediction that BD will get both their 2nd and their 3rd test victory!!!

My Bold Predictions:

1. Bashar will continue as a captain for another year, and will try his best to be in this spot until 2011 WC.
2. Bashar will score three centuries in tests in 2007.
3. Neither Rafiq nor Bashar nor Javed will retire, and their face will not efface from the scene of BD cricket until 2011 WC.
4. Rasel and Rajin will emerge as two consistent performer for BD team.
5. Tapash will make his comeback.
6. Aftab will score a century in ODI.
7. Khaled Mashud will be dropped from the team permanenetly.

Not So Bold:

1. Bangladesh will qualify in the secound round of the WC.(Although it hurts me greatly, but realistically, I stil cannot depend on BD batsmen).
2. SN will continue in the same vein.

Navarene should be given the chance to open the ODI against NZ on the 2nd of April.

Here is my predictions:

2.BD has a reasonable chance of beating England and WI
3.SN will perform in the super 8

4) Ashraful will score BD's first Test Double Century
5) We will beat NZ in WC warm up
6) Australia will send it's D team to beat Zimbabawe or boycott the Test match series, and will give Bangladesh the opportunity to tour Australia.
7) Asia Cup will get postponed from 2008 to 2015
8) Captain Hablu will lose the toss vs CAN/BER/SCOT/Zim + Mehrab jr will score 1st ball golden duck which lead the way for BD to score 330+.
9) Aftab will convert one of his 50's into 100.

Not so Bold predictions
1) SN will score a Century or 2 or 3 vs CAN/BER/SCOT/ZIM
2) Alok Kapali will get called up again only to fall on his face again
3) When It's Feburary Razzak will have an ODI average that is less than my age.
4) BC will continue to get bigger and better in 2007.

Ladies and Gentlemen make predictions for 2007 and 12 months later I'll dig this thread up to see how good or bad our predictions were.
Good bold predictions that are coming true (2 and 5). No. 6 was not fair to Zimbos. They were the only team to restrict Aussies under 300 in this WC (warm-up). No predictions for Mash? I think he will get across 100th wicket this year.

BOLD: -

1. Mash will become a legitimate all-rounder by the end of the year, if he can stay injury-free (let's pary he does).
2. Ashraful will exceed our expectations.
3. Alok & Nafis Iqbal will be back with a bang.
4. Rasel will continue to improve.
5. Mushi will become a better keeper.
6. Tamim will play a test match, and do well.
7. Ritchie Mac will take to a level beyond our expectations after faruikka, ata, HaBa and golla exit the scene.
