Default Injury of Shahadat Hossain

The commentators were saying last night that Shahadat Hossain Rajib suffered an injury during the middle of the after-lunch session and they were getting conflicting news from the dressing room. First the commentators were told that Shahadat is having a problem with his knee. But later they found that he is having problem in the groin area. Arun Lal thought it is the groain injury, because he saw Shahadat leaving the field with his hand on the groin.

Shahadat bowled just 9 overs yesterday. He got the wicket of Dravid in his 8th over. He bowled one more over after that and then did not return to bowling rest of the day.

I did not watch the last hour or so of the game last night. I did not see any news on the media too. How Shahadat doing now? How bad is his injury? Did you guys see him on the field during the closing session of the day yesterday?

Here is some info from Daily Star

Quote:
"It was really a hard day for us and at a very crucial stage we missed Rajib (Shahadat Hossain) because he was complaining with a knee injury. We didn't want to take any risk but it was difficult to continue attack with a bowler short in such a tough condition," said Bangladesh captain Habibul Bashar
So, it is knee injury. No news on the severity of the injury.
But will he be available to bowl tomorrow?

he should be back, since he didn't injury it during his actual bowling...he finishes his over.

unless he got hurt ont he last delivery he threw done.

now, since i am the most pace-addicted BC member (it happens when u spend an hour a day browsing pakpassion and ICF), how fast was rajib bowling?

mash we know is capable of 90 mph when he wants to...he's proved that over the last couple months.

CI says mash had a delivery at 137.1 k
some guy on cricbuzz said 143 k when rafique and rajib were bowling, so i'm guessing it was rajib who bowled 143 k...can anyone confirm?

shahadat did bowl 78/77 at times that troubled both Dravid and Kartick. They were lucky to escape. I watched the closing overs and did not see Shahadat at the field. I am not sure Habibul Bashar knows the difference between knee and groin. My intuition was groin problem. Anyways, BD will take the new ball if Shahadat can continue (1st thing tomorrow). Rajin was so unlucky not to get Tendu's wicket. The ball went by an inch outside the leg. KM dropped two half chances. Stupid fielding by BD gave 6 runs on one of Shahadat's over (over through which KMasud couldnot hold on).

Yes it was in his earlier overs. He went 140 then followed with 143K. Bowled pretty well yesterday. Almost god Karthick had it not been for NO ball.

Please change your signature color. I thought using color on signature is against the board rule! where is chinaman when you need him?

Yes. Rajib delivered one of 143 k. He crossed 140 quite a few times.

I actually watched both the opening spell and the early post lunch overs when the wickets fell. I found Murtaza , on average, just as quick , if not quicker than Shahadat.

Murtaza has regained some of his lost pace from a couple of years back and bowls around 85mph [ 137 kph ] regularly.

His "slow" bouncer is becoming better and better !
