BD scores their 1st 300+ against a non-whipping boys, non-minnows, non-cricket peasants, non-poor team on march 17th.

March 17th = বঙ্গবন্ধুর জন্মদিন, হাসিনা ক্ষমতায় থাকলে সরকারি ছুটি হতো।

i have a feeling that we will get bundled out for 160 or so if we bat first, and probably concede something in excess of 300 if we bowl, and it's no good predicting what will happen after as the game will be over by then.

reading this from the cricketweb forum made laugh pretty hard

Quote:

Madman Manan Arrested after Attempted Assassination of Indian Pace Bowling Attack

A well known critic of the dire Indian seam bowling attack Manan Shah was today arrested after he attempted to wipe the bowlers out. Shah was earlier booted out of India's match against Bangladesh at Queens Park Oval after hurling constant abuse at the Indian Pace Barrage after they let the Tigers make a mammoth 2/424.

It is alleged that Shah pulled out an antique springfield rifle from under his shirt and attempted to gun down the bowlers, who incidently were only saved by his poor accuracy (how ironic), as they made their way out of the ground to hop on the team bus.

That is very true...unfortunately.

Aftab's habit of going for quick blast and then departing is not changing. He is a vital player for our success and he need to control his innings. If we wanna beat India, Aftab must stay in the middle for 15-20 overs.

only chance Bd has to upset Ind is if they can capitalise on their thin middle innings bowling. Khan and Munaf is a good opening ball attack. But they dont have much after that. Bd should ideally target to lose atmost 1 wicket by the end of 15 overs. having a strong middle order they can keep piling on after that. But they MUST NOT lose more wickets in the opening overs.if we can score enough runs, we can put them under pressure, besides it is the opening match , so nerves will be there.

But Bd probably has slightly more chance of upsetting Sl than Ind. if it becomes a do or die contest between Bd and Sl to get to next round, I think they will be nervous. And somehow Mr. Ash has his eid day (and tamim, aftab etc) we can very well send Srilanka packing.

I would rather send India packing, but whatever it takes to ge to the second round, I'm up for that. We can think of SL later.

Apparently, India's recent performances have turned a few heads....According to Ranatunga, 2 of the semifinalists will come from Group B.
