Let's see how this team does, the injured players are going to return and Mushfiq is gone. This will be a good preview to how they perform in the main tournament.

BCB is planning to send all 19 players (15 members official WC squad + 4 standby players) to NZ. Which four players do you see getting the axe after the tri-series? My guess - Nasum, Mahedi, Rishad, and Saifuddin. Shoriful and Soumya are likely to make the switch from the reserve to the main squad.

If any batter picks up any real injury during tri-series or WC, I think Riyad is very likely to be called back as replacement.

Looks like even the news channels have sussed out selector's biased selection and how certain players get discarded to another planet!

Tahmid Amit (Jamuna TV) is anticipating Soumya and Shoriful to swap places with Sabbir and Saifuddin during tri-series. As per ICC rules, BCB can change the 15 member WC squad till Oct 15, ie till the day before WC starts, without any injury cause or taking any special permission from ICC.

My preferred XI for the opening match against Pakistan would be -

Miraz
Soumya
Litton
Shakib (on faster pitches, imo, Shakib should come two down)
Afif
Mosaddek
Sohan
Sabbir
Taskin
Ebadot
Shoriful

Go with three pacers, don't field Nasum or Mustafiz on a fresh Christchurch pitch (maybe they can play in the later half of the series as matches will be played on used pitches).

Given Naim was our top scorer in NZ (with SR 125) last year, imo, Shanto should be dropped to make place for Naim as the backup opener (though I don't see that's happening).

The gap between Babar-Rizwan and rest of the Pakistani batting order is huge! They left out Shoaib Malik prematurely.

this is my team too..soumya and sabbir just there because i have to field 11 players..if i was given the option i would have taken 9 players and two local fielders instead S&S

tbh i am torn between who to pick between "sabbir the walking wicket" and "nasum come hit me" in the end i would pick sabbir because of fielding and hope mossadek can cut it as 5th bowler...lets see if mr tiktok hujur can still field the way he used to

This is probably true in our case. Superstar Sabbir and co are added while Riad's experience is left out. This is just a lot of sh*t decision in one basket. Am not saying that Riad deserves a place in the team with his recent performance but Jesus, if you're not going to get someone proper, why even drop him? At least he was getting those 20-odd runs which our tiktokers can't even manage to get run a ball.

BD hasn’t adjusted to international level of t20. Especially towards the end of an innings when there are decent amount of wickets left there is no intent. Clueless

The batsman don’t have the physical and mental strength.

Bowlers keep bowing wrong lengths and not to the field.

Fielding is below par. Even Zimbabwe and Afghanistan is better.

And the selectors don’t help handicapping the team before the game starts. There is no accountability.

Shaheen Afridi will skip the series. Naseem Shah, who is recovering from Covid, may miss first few matches, if not the entire series. So, we will face a relatively inexperienced (and arguably less lethal) pace attack of Hasnain-Wasim Jr-Rauf.

Disturbingly, Shakib joining the team only the day before the series start. Thought he would take a more active part in game planning and mentoring younger players!

Shakib apparently was ready to fly off from LA on Oct 2, a two day delay was caused as he didn't have transit visa through Tahiti. Anywah, he has joined the team in Christchurch, and hopefully will be refreshed and ready to go tomorrow afternoon.

Somehow, it has become hard to find flights from Americas to Oceania nowadays. Shimron Hetmyer has been axed from Windies squad as WICB could not work out tickets for him, to Australia, as he demanded.

Miraz said he is ready to open in wintry condition (12C) against Pakistan. No update from TikToker Sabbir. Looks like Soumya may open, keeping Litton at 3 and Shakib at 4. Bashar said Shakib has no issue batting at 4.

I guess two day long flight took a toll on Shakib - he is sitting out the match today, Nurul to lead.

Nasum on a wintry NZ pitch?! Will he open against Babar-Rizwan?

I can't even blame Shakib at this point. 90% of the blame goes to BCB for incompetent NOC given out right before the WC and then not making sure pre-booking of the ticket was done. Beta Papon will come to media and bs again. Bunch of idiots
