They should be very proud of what they have achieved in this World Cup. They always deliver. Shame on ICC. I hope they reverse their decision of 10 team tourney.

Their batting is ok. But their bowling is pretty ordinary.

I want Ireland to succeed. However, I have a concern for the future. Unless they are given the test status...I don't see they can qualify next time around.
1) The core players are going to be old and will lose the edge.
2) The new ones always looking to go to the darkside.
3) Bowling weakness.
Compare that with Afganistan, Scotland, Holland, Nepal (inexperience), Namibia. I don't think they can make it in the next World Cup. This was their time. Kenya 2.0 But not that bad. A failure for ICC.
I don't think any associates would qualify. Zimbabwe is stronger than all of them even without Taylor in four years time (Watmore...ICC money) The gap would get larger.

Sucks for IRL. They should've won the games vs UAE/Zim more convincingly. West Indies/Paks don't deserve to be there. Ireland have played better cricket and got screwed by the toughest end of the schedule. facing IND/PAK back-back was always going to be impossible task. Don't know if they will even play another WC soon. A QF entry would've been a real slap in the face for ICC.

Already mentioned it but its pretty much a done deal that Simmons is off to coach the WI in the next week.
Wish him all the best but time for a change I reckon. Time for the youngsters to get a shot
