Default Keu Pabe Keu Pabena ... Ta hobe na Ta hobe Na !!!

Some interesting tidbits.....

The grassroots level leaders of the ruling BNP yesterday accused the ministers and party lawmakers of enjoying all the 'benefits' since the four-party government's assuming office, depriving the field level leaders and workers.

They pointed out the growing internal feuds in different units of the party and asked the high command to take immediate measures to resolve the conflicts.

.......

"If the ministers and the lawmakers eat up everything, what will be left for the other leaders and workers?" Tanvir questioned amid clapping from the grassroots level leaders.

........

Speaking at the meeting, SM Gaznavi, general secretary of Borhanuddin upazila unit of the party, said the party leaders who did not get any benefits are now aggrieved and those who have been benefited in the last four years are "acting cautiously."

"The ministers will leave the country if the party fails to win the next election, but we will have to stay and face the adverse situation," Gaznabi told the meeting.

BNP Munshiganj unit General Secretary Mujibur Rahman said, "Our ministers and senior leaders are too busy with their own affairs. They must rid themselves of such tendency."

So now it is a well known fact (at least out in open) that everyone in the party is corrupted. The ministers are looting and the ground level worker wants a share of the loot. Oppositions can't wait to get the loot and giving ultimatum. WOW!! we are for the people!!! Nice democracy we have going on.

Bangladesh already infested with mass political corruption has too many unnecessary ministries.. SIXTY! if I'm correct.

As a poor third world nation with so many internation problems, it was a very bad mistake of the BNP gov't to create all the additional ministries... I know for a fact most of ministers' positions were bought out by rich businessmen, close 'friends' to Khaleda Zia, Tariq Zia and also to distribute between 4-party alliance.

So obviously if there's this many ministers and corruption involved, there will be little benefits left for the grassroot level.

I think it'd be wise to merge and reduce them down to 30-40.

Didnt really feel like starting another "negative" topic so i will include it here. Apparently, another Index considers Bangladesh along with Chad to be the worlds most corrupt country. Personally, i dont buy that we are more corrupt than Nigeria or some other African countries.

However, corruption is very much part and parcel of life in our country, and theres no denying that something needs to be done soon if we dont want to see our name tarnished every 6 months with a new index naming us as the worst.

Corruption is on the rise in some rich countries as well as poorer ones, research by anti-corruption watchdog Transparency International suggests.
The group's Corruption Perceptions Index labels Bangladesh and Chad as the most corrupt places on the planet.
