Time to Give your Opinion about the Squad

I know there have been other threads related to squad, but I think we need a separate thread to give your opinion about the squad that has been selected. For your convenience, here it is:

My Opinion is, I'm a bit split minded about not having pilot at all. I'm like 60%, it was a good thing, 40% it was a bad thing, can't make up my mind. Other than that, I did not wanted to see JO, and we would have been better off taking another allrounder (i.e. Forhad Reza or Manjarul Rana). Other than that I'm happy with the team.

I am also against inclusion of Javed Omar, I would have liked to see Forhad who is an excellent fielder too.

I am repeating some comments from threads in BC section-

Sharif is withdrawn and Farhad Reza is not taken- my impression, we are not playing a third pacer. We are taking two back up pacers instead of just one because chance of injury to pacers in hot & humid Caribbean condition is high. Also, it may be because the management is not so sure about Rajib's place in the playing eleven.

Javed is taken in place of Mehrab, as a back up opener- no that surprising, Mehrab was unimpressive even against minnows. Also, incase you have an injury wobble in the team, you obviously want an experienced player as your back up.

Bashar mentioned Rajin's inclusion was because he is a flexible option for both top and middle order- my impression he will be asked to play the same role Mushfiq played in Zimbabwe. Management probably don't want to rely too much on Mushfiq (since he is still very inexperienced) to prevent batting collapses (incase we get into that situation again) when it comes to matches against big teams.

The selectors made a two bold statement. One good, one really bad.
Why Forhad got axed in the Zim series? They say, we have better replacement in Sharif. Then when sharif got sidelined it was Forhad's turn to replace him. But we find JO there? I know nothing about cricket. Cause I can't make the heads or tails on this one.

If you (the selectors) wanted to include JO and Rajin, why the hell did you deprive them of match practice in Zimbabwe and against Kenya and against Scotland and against..........?

tiger's eye - I think I know the answer to that. Javed took Mehrab's place. Mehrab's all-rounder skills are redundant against SL/India because we don't need too many spinners against them. Rajin with his two centuries and some half centuries in the league catapulted Farhad Reza. Sharif was replaced by Russel.

I always found it surprising that Sharif was tagged as an allrouder, his FC and List-A batting stats are no better than those of Tapash or Razzak, if not worse. Anyway, I think the question over Sharif's fitness got him out of the squad.

Reza's right arm medium pace would not be effective in West Indian condition, no surprise there that he is not considered for a pacer slot (though I really hoped he would be considered for a middle order batting position).
