There is no such thing as haram dogs in house. Dogs are friends of human. They are as a blessing from God. Please read the following from Quran and reflect...
Quote:
Quran chapter 5, verse 4
They consult you concerning what is lawful for them; say, "Lawful for you are all good things, including what trained dogs and falcons catch for you." You train them according to GOD's teachings. You may eat what they catch for you, and mention GOD's name thereupon. You shall observe GOD. GOD is most efficient in reckoning.
|
Obviously you cannot train a dog without keeping it in your house. Moreover, God says that dogs are there to be trained ("your train them according to God's teachings").
Now see the following story:
Quote:
Quran Chapter 18, verse 13 to 20
We narrate to you their history, truthfully. They were youths who believed in their Lord, and we increased their guidance. We strengthened their hearts when they stood up and proclaimed: "Our only Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. We will never worship any other god beside Him. Otherwise, we would be far astray. "Here are our people setting up gods beside Him. If only they could provide any proof to support their stand! Who is more evil than the one who fabricates lies and attributes them to GOD?
"Since you wish to avoid them, and their worshipping of other than GOD, let us take refuge in the cave. May your Lord shower you with His mercy and direct you to the right decision."
You could see the sun when it rose coming from the right side of their cave, and when it set, it shone on them from the left, as they slept in the hollow thereof. This is one of GOD's portents. Whomever GOD guides is the truly guided one, and whomever He sends astray, you will not find for him a guiding teacher.
You would think that they were awake, when they were in fact asleep. We turned them to the right side and the left side, while their dog stretched his arms in their midst. Had you looked at them, you would have fled from them, stricken with terror.
When we resurrected them, they asked each other, "How long have you been here?" "We have been here one day or part of the day," they answered. "Your Lord knows best how long we stayed here, so let us send one of us with this money to the city. Let him fetch the cleanest food, and buy some for us. Let him keep a low profile, and attract no attention.
|
..... To read the full story please read Quran chapter 18 (The Cave).
It is evident from the story that these few were strong believer in God and they took their pet dog with them when they fled for the cave. These few are known as "Seven Sleepers of Ephesus". Ephesus is located in modern day Turkey, google it out or see the following:
http://www.kusadasi.net/historical/sevensleepers.htm
Therefore, please eradicate this misconception that dog is haram. Do not invent prohibition in the name of religion and God.

Thanks Nasif for clarifying on a minor but irritating detail, IMHO.
I also find some of these misconceptions to be troubling too. It is heartening that we have a healthy debate about these assertions and that any points are backed up with some solid arguments.

Who said nishy was a person. Anyhow, I had a chat with Confucius. He practically begged me to consider nishy as my pet. Lately, I been hearing [it] considering committing suicide cuz there aren’t anymore joke left to amuse its peeps.
