Default The BC guide to Wedding

1 - Registry
This is the day when a Mullah asks you to fill in a form and gets you and your wife to sign it and also when shakhkhis are present.
Mullah charge - Tk 5,000
You are also married according to Bangladeshi law after this ceremony

2 - Meyer gaye holud
Your wife's gaye holud happens before yours. And, you don't get to go to it!
You buy gaye holud saree , sweets, mehendi, holud , rakhi, etc. for your wife
Cost - Tk ?

3 - Cheler gaye holud
It's your gaye holud day. You can have it in a community centre or the roof. Food, decoration, music and stage decoration are all required.
Your wife's side will bring your gaye holud panjabi-payjama and any gifts for you
Cost - Tk ?

4 - Wedding day
Nikah also happens on this day. You are Islamically married after Nikah. This is when you rent a community hall , all the guests come from both sides, you rent cars, have food , etc.
Do not hire so called professional photographers. They use old DV camcorders and DV tape. Get a cousin or a friend to record your wedding / gaye holuds with your own HD camcorder. They also bother you too much while they take photos of you from all angles and light you up.
Cost - Tk ?

5 - Bou vaat
Cost - Tk ?

If you want to get married, you need to ensure you have Tk 20 lakhs minimum to cover everything.

Feel free to pitch in, married members

Whom did you hire? AFAIK, wedding photography/cinematography has improved drastically in Bangladesh.

You need professional, as we say, "videoman". Back in the days there used to videoman with a light assistant. That guy would put a 1000000 volt light in your face and people would sweat and the bride makeup would melt. But the best part was editing. One would be master print and the other with songs. Aaj ei dintake when jamai bou sits together, some sad song when bou cries before leaving and poor jamai stands in the side and many many more. Plus the animation.

The costs are all contiguous to marriage ceremony, but what will happen after the marriage? honeymoon + life style expense won't it also increase? so minimum 20L won't be the case.

Well, i don't understand the purpose/ritual of gaye holud, as if rubbing turmeric once will make us fair. how did you like your gaye holud, (everyone rubbing-eating so much sweets)
