Technique is not overrated. At least not in the case of Bangladesh. They make the same batting mistakes day in, day out. I say, we get a full-time batting coach, and make sure his evaluations are made public on a monthly basis. We should name and shame those treacherous players, who continue to disregard their coaching. These players constitute a very dangerous axis of evil.
Let us unite in declaring war on the mental terrorism perpetrated by our batsmen. I, for one, would like to see a "coaliton of the willing" tackle this plague head on.
I think the Bangladeshi courts should charge all Bangladeshi batsmen in violation of the Patriot Act too.

What we wouldn't do to have a Geoff Boycott anchoring our test innings: full of technique and short on imagination...

LOL We should also enlist the help of RAB. They can take out any player who impulsively hooks, drops catches or gets out for less than 10. (for those who don't understand sarcasm i am of course kidding - we still love Bashar!)

We need a full time batting coach who will watch every domestic match and will find out which r the batsmen fit for the game despite of there Techniq.....
But now i can see the selectors point of view where they have batsmen with tech and withour tec and bot not tested so to be safe they always go with tech... so we need a higher caliber batting person who will have Jewlers eye...

Final team should be selected on Production and Performance only.
BCB should always take necessary steps that the players have the right technique. Technique is the tool for the players to enhance their performance.
What good does it do if a player has good technique on paper but cannot convert it into production or cannot use it when needed? Moreover, good technique vs. bad technique is debatable and fussy.
But ultimately national team should only be selected based on production and performance which are more measurable. Otherwise the misery will continue....

Technique is not overrated. It is critically important but at what stage? I think in the early stage when players are developing. In countries like Australia, they stress on technique to little kids and when they reach their teens- they are already technically(almost) correct or close to it which they can fix over the years!
We need to do the same. If we want to show any sort of challenge in Test cricket- one day cricket,.....blaaaaaah! i don't call that cricket- its entertainment!
